I never thought it was "fun" to find a slime chunk. You couldn't "go out and find one", instead you had to be lucky enough to come across one, while spelunking and/ore mining. Then upon finding 1 slime, you had to find where it had spawned. THEN you had to press f3, and do a little maths to find the borders of that chunk, THEN dig a large room for them to spawn in, THEN go at least 24 metres away (but no more than 128), and wait.
And wait. And wait.
If you made a mistake, and you didn't find the correct chunk- you had done all of that for nothing. Oh well, back to spelunking until you get lucky and see another one.
On the other hand, if you did it correctly, they have instantly become very easy to find, and so have lost virtually all value. I don't call ANY of that fun.
While I completely agree with all of this, I do wish they'd somehow retained the (initial) rarity.
Same here and WTF are you suppost to do with a zip folder when you can't access it cause you dont have 7zip or winrar. Why is it a freakin zip file. Why not make it a jar file like the last snapshot I downloaded
They've always come like that. You need to change the file extention from .zip to .jar.
Absolutely, I like that they were rare, it prevented minecraft from... I don't know how to put it- from becoming too easy? too boring? too samey?
But, I didn't like how they went from being incredibly hard (nigh-on impossible) to incredibly easy (using a mob grinder). I don't think that anything (bosses excluded) should be as hard as finding slimes were. And for everything else in the game, it is entirely your choice how easy you want to make things. You can make mob grinders, or you can not.
For slimes, there was no intermediate ground. They were either too rare, or too common.
Oh, and as a lover of redstone, I hated needing sticky pistons, and never finding any slimeballs. Tekkit's sticky resin was a pleasant discovery.
True, incredibly difficult to find on sheer dumb luck, but if you sufficiently cleared out an area, or built underground where they can spawn, they spawned often enough and if you have lit up the local caves enough, maybe for a mob system, they can become a bit of an irritation..
I found the most strangest and queer bug, I just punch dirt a couple of times (Not holding down the button) and it decays like leaves. Is this bug common?
Wow I found the bug before I read this. You'll have to test other versions.

like i tested after happening just spinned around fast hitting the floor i made holes everywhere with my fists....
I have the same "problem." You can mine something, even for just a second, then switch to another block, and the first one will break, and so forth. I haven't tested far with it but if it works the same, it might even break obsidian in just a second >.>
Let me guess....The witch turned you into a newt, but you got better.

I like the idea of slimes in swamps, it fits alot, and now slimes would be less rare. Also Bats should drop gunpowder because I think that gunpowder actually came from bats.
The paintings can overlap paintings when you place them.
Did they not test placing paintings at all when they fixed the code?
And what happened to the painting code before, why couldn't they just use what they had when it worked?

Maybe that's a feature, though I doubt it
I don't know why they changed the paintings code, but I would assume that they had to. Programmers don't generally go into working code and fiddle with it for no reason.
I wish while they were doing it, though, they changed it so you could get exactly the painting you wanted.

Finally! Thanks Dinnerbone!
It's mentioned in the list of features, but that doesn't convey how fundamentaly useful it is.
The dev(s) that came up with and implemented it should be given a raise and a big corner office to continue working on these sort of options.

Well if we're going to be creative, I think it looks like a wild boar.
