The anvil is to expensive! its 15 lvls just to change the name of something plus the added cost depending on your enchantments I think the rename cost should definitely be lowered!
I think it would be cool if you could make Iron Bows. Three string and three iron ingots. And it would be stronger than a bow and can shoot farther. Still need a legitimate way to get a sponge :-0
Huh looks like the anvil is still bad, and still breaks...

also the anvil is very ugly and bulky compared to this mod
All the snapshots in one are awesome. Because the snapshots that adds new blocks and objects are amazing. New things New Experiences. So i hope the new version of Minecraft will be released soon. Psssssss...:)
I love the idea of an anvil and its functionality, but requiring FIFTY-FIVE iron ingots to make one is just plain crazy, especially when it's not indestructible. The same amount of iron could make 18 iron pickaxes with 251 uses each for over 4,500 uses total. Surely an anvil made of that much iron should have a similar use count, if not be indestructible.
The point of the Anvil, as I understand it, is to repair an enchanted diamond tool.
So it's not a case of "spend 55 iron ingots to make lots of iron pick-axes".
It's "spend 55 iron ingots for three repairs of diamond tools with lots of wanted enchantments". Or, for a cost of 3 diamonds and 18 iron, plus 33 levels, repair your enchanted pick that cost you 15 attempts at level 30 enchanting to get.
If I've misunderstood, please let me know. Otherwise, I think this is cheap.
But, if the idea going forward is that enchanted tools are really supposed to be repairable, then I guess it's time to make a goblin tinkering table after all.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Experience from breeding? I do not approve, as you can now practically farm xp out of (almost) nothing. XP from smelting was so-so, as you can farm trees to get charchoal to get xp. Getting it now will be almost too easy I think.
but then you already get expo for coal, and building a pickaxe is same work as growing wheat. did you approve of coal experience?i for one am having trouble finding time to try out all these new things!
Would be nice instead of using XP to Engrave names on items (renaming), instead use a tool -> Chisel (placed in a new slot on the Gui). After so many names the Chisel breaks.

your wrong. It's not easy. Gathering wood may take awhile (unless your using bukkit or mods). And experience from breeding makes breeding more unique so players can get exited by breeding.
dude, sick snapshot! the anvil, wither, command block, ect. rocks. the only problem I've had is that the /tp <player> [x] [y] [z] command doesn't work with the command block perfect. it always teleports me -1 x and -1 z off target (using F3 to find the chords). otherwise, great snapshot. hope the official update gets released soon!

Finally something to do with those tools that got poor enchantments.

I like to blog about stuff - currently Tracfone cell phones, where I cover lots of info, even how you can use a Tracfone Promo Code to get free minute for your prepaid cell phone.
I dislike the Anvil, I think it's extremely expensive, both material and experience wise. Also it's pointless, as you can already repair tools in your crafting space in your inventory, assuming the tools are the same kind and not enchanted. The only positive thing about the Anvil I can think off is the fact it acts like Sand or Gravel, affected by gravity. With the use of Trip Wires and Anvils, adventure maps are going to get so much better.
Repairing (and combining) enchanted tools is the whole point.
Repairing is actually very powerful and will overall SAVE you exp cost. That's pretty awesome. It saves exp because you won't have to waste all the exp on enchants that you don't want in order to try and make a similar item.
Yeah it costs 30 something exp some times but trying to make that same enchant over again might cost you hundreds.

Experience from breeding animals: Before you say "Bad move", consider peaceful players. I think it's one small step, and a good step.
