The witch is awsome can't wait to see how it will spawn into the world. Bat is so cute. Someone has to make a mod that let us tame it and keep it as a pet. The new sounds are great however their are some I don't like.
The ladder sound when placing and climbing is a bit much.
Skeleton sound is almost good. Not sure how I would change it but I think I can get use to it in time.
Cow sounds are awsome although I would like to hear a longer version of the deeper moo.
My most favorite sounds are the moos, exp orbs/lvl up and the water/swimming. I think I will be making indoor water features in my home for now on.
Actually, I DO HAVE TO USE IT. If I go into caves, tada, BATS. Chances are I'll run into witches too when I go exploring. Now, please tell me, WHERE is this magical switch that turns this stuff off? Exactly.
Their is a mod that allows you to "switch" off certain aspect of the game. I think its called old days. I'm sure if you request to turn off the new mobs then it could be added into the mod. So that way you can play alpha old school if you wanted.
Are you serious? The bats are eh..., but WITCHES? What the hell is this game becoming? It was so much better as a sandbox survival game, but it's turning into an RPG. C'mon, a three-headed skull monster that shoots explosive miniskulls is bad enough, let alone a witch (has to be the most clichéd evil character ever). Ever since 1.0.0, this game has been going downhill. Floating clouds of firey metal rods, cavemen with a severe case of inflammatory sinusitis, and purple islands with cows that have a systemic fungal infection, not to mention a block that calls down some heavenly light and more or less puts you on steroids in exchange for some shiny rocks. I know I'll get flamed for my OPINION, and get spammed with, "YU DONT HAF TO DO DOSE DINGS IV YOO DOANT WANNAH!!!11!!1!!," but my point still stands. Regardless, I just feel Mojang is running out of ideas, and adding weird things like witches and bats, and changing the sounds to make it seem like, "A WHOLE NEW GAME!!!! ." Just remember before/if responding to me, that this is my OPINION.

Oh man, I've been waiting for a new passive (official) mob forever. Hopefully someday we will be able to tame them as pets. I wonder if they're the type that eats fruit or fish (since we can't feed them blood or bugs).

Very impressed with the sounds, can't wait for the full release but i'm having an issue... When I put my texture pack into the Minecraft "Texture Pack Folder" the game won't accept it. It ignores my click and acts like I haven't clicked it. It may just be me but I may need some help... I'm running Minecraft of a Mac "Mountain Lion" and the Texture Pack is 32x32. I've tried it with McPatcher and without McPatcher. FIXED!
How about instead of adding new stuff which, despite being cool, is not necessary and actually fix the lighting bug which has been plaguing the game for the last 2 updates.
They've tried. It's hard. They're still working on it, but to think they should halt all production until that one thing is fixed, is frankly ridiculous.

I actually think the sounds will be good. The old ones were kinda choppy, and when im breaking a lot of leaves or grass people start getting mad at me irl wondering what the heck Im doing.

Get Xamio sound pack mod for the old minecraft sounds. Its easy to install.

They fix them all the time. And then they make more. Some glitches are harder to fix.
