I like the idea of an alchemist-style mob, but why... why make the witch a testificate? why not a zombie alchemist? or a skeletal mage? or even a friggin pig(wo?)man as a witch!?
The new beacon is kind of meh, liked the old one better.
new skeleton damage sound, not a big fan of it, other sounds aren't horrible, some of them are actually pretty good.
Bats, I don't know what to think here, they do nothing but add ambience and lower the amount of hostiles spawning yet.
Other than that, the other small changes are certainly welcome

Why does everyone want freaking stupid pig people? And if they made it a zombie, people would ask the same thing but why is it a zombie?
Why would you not want bats? They make the game more realistic, since theres a lot of caves.
I cant help but think that bats should act somewhat like zombie pigmen- you hurt/kill one, all the others go after you.
also: they should spawn in caves w/ direct acess to the open, should not go deeper than 10-20 blocks past the cave entrace, should spawn in medium-large swarms that stick together somewhat.
this halloween is gonna be creepy. *ssss* not you creeper GO AWAY!*BOOM*
I like this snapshot alot. Very cool feature for Silverfish to rarely spawn in stone generated underground. Also, I like the Witch, it is going to be a nice mob. I just hate the fact that the Beacon texture was changed, they should probably re-add that yellow End Crystal back into the design. I think it may be a bug that it isn't there on the visible block, because the little yellow dot still appears in the texture while in your inventory.

You are correct, the beacon block does have a bug when place. The bug is listed on the snapshot wiki.
Is it just me or do chickens now make a really annoying "ticking" sound? Probably supposed to sound like their claws on the ground, but it should only make that noise on HARD surfaces, not grass. PLEASE for the love of my ears!!!! Thank you!
Oh and the stair corner in the desert temples is still messed up. Thanks.
Also, I would love to see mummies added to desert temples (probably what they're going to do) or they might add werewolves or vampires, either one is bound to make it into Minecraft before Halloween
uhg...I hate the new Halloween stuff that's being added right now. The witches, the wither and the wither skeletons, and bats. No one asked for any of that stuff. What is the point of bats? be annoying in caves? and witches? come on... and the crappy beacons are only obtainable by killing a boss who's only purpose was for a useless block? I've never hated an update until now. I really liked when Jeb took over development, but now I'm not so sure...
i REALLY think you need to be able to spawn in items with damage values the fact you cant spawn in potions through a command block or enchanted items is seriously putting a dampener on my redstone projects

The spiders are technically, Giant Spiders. So giant bats would be awkward.

Not really, I was on a cave expedition the other day and found 3 emeralds, while my cousin found 4...in the same cave. I think they are more common...
