When they have enough content to put it into an update. A update which was small (like this snapshot), would be very dissapointing. Also it would have a lot of bugs, if they didn't make it a snapshot first, so that people can report bugs.
I mean a update with the command block and the beacon
Can you please implement a way to select which mobs spawn normally in the world, so we can turn off things like endermen, witches, ect.
I bought minecraft as a survival game, not a fantasy game filled with magic, and I would like the play my game without having to deal with all these fantasy elements. I can choose to not enchant, I can choose to not make potions, I can choose to not go to the end, but I am FORCED to deal with these mobs like witches and the like. I like the difficulty of being zerged by spiders, creepers, zombies, and skeletons. I simply do not want to be forced to deal with some new game feature I cannot stop. (For instance, you don't like mine shafts and strongholds, you can turn them off in the generation options no problem. But you are forced to deal with mobs.)
Bottom line is, the implementation of First-Party mob control would allow one to enjoy their game and play it how they want (like turning off creepers for some, or spiders for others) without resorting to Third-Party mods.
Mobs can be toggled with difficulty, but that's an on/off switch. And peaceful can get very boring with nothing to kill besides cows.
TL;DR
Implement individual spawn toggles for mobs without needing mods to do so.
Also, please don't impliment trash mobs like zombies drop diamond items, it takes the little remaining challenge and hard work remaining (some call it the fun aspect) out of the endgame. Minecraft was a lot more difficult without the hunger bar regenerating health. So please don't remove ALL the challenge aside from fighting monsters from the game. Note this is a survival game, not a hack and slash dungeon crawler, if i wanted to play Diablo 3 I would do so. I don't want to just be using my fists and suddenly get a random diamond tier item and just like that be almost invincible. So please reconsider the diamond drops from mobs. (iron whatever, it's everywhere anyways, but diamonds by design are RARE and hard to get.)
loling at you telling mojang what their game is and isn't. what a loon.

Woah! Look at that! (Pssst. It's a game development blog.)
I'm 90% sure that the update is called the "Pretty Scary Update", not the "Very Scary Update".
Minecraft Forum, I am disappoint.
It really is the "Pretty, Scary Update", with equal emphasis on both "pretty" and "scary". The point is that there is equally stuff to be scary (witches, bats, wither, and "wither skeletons") as well as pretty stuff like the flower pots, item frames, and other decorative items.

One of the interesting plans that Mojang has for Minecraft is to not only simply implement the API, but to base most of the content related items as plug-ins unto themselves. In other words blocks, items, and mobs are all going to be implemented as plug-ins that will automatically be downloaded when you install Minecraft onto your computer.
When that happens, you will be able to toss out some mob you think is lame, as well as add or replace that mob with something else. Do you want new ores? Just add in the plug-in. You hate emeralds? Just yank that plug-in out of the plug-in folder.
Doing that will make Minecraft extremely customizable and will really blur the line between the "vanilla" game and one that is heavily modded. Just wait and be patient before all of that happens though and don't be a jerk telling these guys what they should and shouldn't be doing.
very nice and stop complaining about the sounds they are great and is the witch going to be in like a nether village or something? cause it is pretty much an evil npc
Was spawning bats all over the place in a village - turns out low-flying bats trample crops! They're not real good at staying out of lava, either. Maybe if they tried to stay 2+blocks off the ground that would help with both.

Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe.
Twitch or nothing? It was nice. Isn't anything going forward.

I find this very funny, actually. but yea, they should get an improved AI to avoid danger

Retired StaffI can hear Simon's "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW" from here. And I'm in the USA.
I can also hear him complaining about how the spiders now make creepy scuttling noises whilst walking.

Is that what that was?
Give the Matmos Environmental Sounds mod a try. I love it.

But giant bats would be annoying and awkward to look at.
New Enderman sounds are just the unimplemented ones.
