LOVE THE BATS spawned some in on creative so nice seeing them fly through the light of the moon having them flutter about off in the distance in between trees
As I already wrote the Level Up! sound will be shorter in the future. And some of the sounds sound weird because the new sound engine is still work in progress.
I read that, hence why I capitalized AND softer. Communication breakdown?
I feel like an idiot now. I didn't play the last one. *headdesk*
call it a learning experience, the changelogs we get in these posts are not inclusive of previous changes so you aren't alone in seeing something new and thinking they must have just added it
when will they do an update instead of an snapshot?
They just put out a release 6 weeks ago. The next one will be Halloween, since it's a Scary update.

I like the new walking sounds. So much quieter when walking on grass, and not the constant khskhskhs sounds. Actually, I like all the new sounds, and can't wait to see more work on the sound engine, good direction. Love the bats. Been waiting on those a long time, nice to see something flying around. Maybe if bats go well, we'll see some birds soon that nest in the trees. Overall, great snapshot, now to test all the features.
Can you please implement a way to select which mobs spawn normally in the world, so we can turn off things like endermen, witches, ect.
I bought minecraft as a survival game, not a fantasy game filled with magic, and I would like the play my game without having to deal with all these fantasy elements. I can choose to not enchant, I can choose to not make potions, I can choose to not go to the end, but I am FORCED to deal with these mobs like witches and the like. I like the difficulty of being zerged by spiders, creepers, zombies, and skeletons. I simply do not want to be forced to deal with some new game feature I cannot stop. (For instance, you don't like mine shafts and strongholds, you can turn them off in the generation options no problem. But you are forced to deal with mobs.)
Bottom line is, the implementation of First-Party mob control would allow one to enjoy their game and play it how they want (like turning off creepers for some, or spiders for others) without resorting to Third-Party mods.
Mobs can be toggled with difficulty, but that's an on/off switch. And peaceful can get very boring with nothing to kill besides cows.
TL;DR
Implement individual spawn toggles for mobs without needing mods to do so.
Also, please don't impliment trash mobs like zombies drop diamond items, it takes the little remaining challenge and hard work remaining (some call it the fun aspect) out of the endgame. Minecraft was a lot more difficult without the hunger bar regenerating health. So please don't remove ALL the challenge aside from fighting monsters from the game. Note this is a survival game, not a hack and slash dungeon crawler, if i wanted to play Diablo 3 I would do so. I don't want to just be using my fists and suddenly get a random diamond tier item and just like that be almost invincible. So please reconsider the diamond drops from mobs. (iron whatever, it's everywhere anyways, but diamonds by design are RARE and hard to get.)
when will they do an update instead of an snapshot?
When they have enough content to put it into an update. A update which was small (like this snapshot), would be very dissapointing. Also it would have a lot of bugs, if they didn't make it a snapshot first, so that people can report bugs.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
It is not that i do not want to, it's just simply that I don't care
yay villages were added back to super flat worlds, also is it just me or do the lamp post spawn more? they look much nicer like that
also they should add in a option to go with the old sounds rather than the new ones
actually the more I think of it, a witches tower structure would be pretty awesome, brew-stand and cauldron , possibly bookshelves, with plenty of nasty traps on the way up ... give the witch level a nice balcony from which to hurl potions at approaching players ... mwahahahaah

Sorry buddy, but you and everyone else bought the game as is and Mojang has the right to change the game to how they see fit. Don't like the new stuff? Just don't update your game or go find/make mods that suit your wants.

they actually do, but only when not being 'disturbed' by player presence or other non bat mobs

Halloween exactly, or near Halloween?
y they could carry you around through the air after you tame
them and build them a batbox to live in during the day
Support the dinner plate!
Minecraft Forum, I am disappoint.
also they should add in a option to go with the old sounds rather than the new ones
I like bats and witch they're so cool!
But they should do Realistic Sounds:ON/OFF for some people who wants orginal sounds
