Hey do you guys know of any site or forum page, besides minecraftwiki.com, that keeps the crafting recipes updated? My computer isn't letting me access minecraftwiki.com for some reason. Much appreciated!
They fix them all the time. And then they make more. Some glitches are harder to fix.
All creatures in the game, from silverfish to villagers, are genderless.
They've tried. It's hard. They're still working on it, but to think they should halt all production until that one thing is fixed, is frankly ridiculous.

Nope. Not liking something is fine. Just don't ***** and moan and talk about how you're going to quit forever because Jeb killed your baby. Which you did not do. That complaint was directed at others
I suggest you say something on http://www.reddit.co...gestions]Reddit about it, or even better search for someone else saying it and then vote them up.

So I played around a bit more, Allot of people here are complaining about Minecraft being a bit more of an RPG type game. If you recall that was the intent all along with the adventure update. The game is suposed to keep all of the original elements but have a new game mode which will add new elements to it, that being the adventure update.
What this was ment to do was to not only encourage survival but exploration. The Minecraft world is so large and it only increases in size as you explore the world. It challenges you for survial as well as creativity, with the new adventure update it will challenge your skills to explore your world. Hence the villages, the potions, the trading system, and so forth.
All of the snap shots are just glimpses of the game, and what is being worked on behind the closed doors. If anything we are the beta testers, since the snapshot is not an official release. It is our input that will determin the path of the game.
The witch is not a mob that spawns naturaly in the game, only with a mob egg, from what I can tell at this point. The creators can do what ever they want to with this mob really. Same goes with the Wither as this mob can be only be created by the user. Though as a Suggestion I would limit this mob to the Nether, the reasoning is because for it to be spawned in the over world, this mob can be used to grieve the over world as where the nether would make it harder to get around... Although all mobs can leave the world via portal now.. I am not sure what this mob will become, or what will become of this mob.
As far as this snap shot goes the new sounds are also a key issue with many of you as they are with I. But understand that nothing in the snap shots are perminate or definate for that matter and why it is all of our input that will help steer the direction of the game. Minecraft is probably the only game in history where the user input is taken so much into concideration and listened to for that matter.
After playing a bit more with this snap shot I find it a bit interesting. Some new sounds from the enviroment, walking and building, I am disapointed in the changes. Many of the sounds are just a bit off, it is not personal prefrence for the old sounds, its the fact that what I am hearing doesn't sound natural to that action. Like walking on planks of wood, its way to synthesised.
The mob sounds, the only hostile mobs changes I noticed was the skelenton and the enderman. The skelenton sounds a bit better to me, though can still have some improment. The Enderman's new sound almoust haunts you with his new sound that you have this "Oh S***" momment.
The leaves sound like the old sand and I think the sand should remain as it was before.. Though as for the statement that the leaves sound like a creeper. I don't think so. Though if this was the case, then I would think it would be ratter a complement due to the fact that the creeper was thought of as a leaf monster. (Use minecraft Wiki:https://twitter.com/notch/status/27464490580) As for exploding, I don't know XD that is anyones guess.
The witch as a mob has been interesting, yes they resemble the villagers somewhat but so do the iron golems. That is just the way you can now determin a hostile from another player I supose. They aren't that hard to defeat, Since they are ranged you need to keep distance with a bow and arrow. As long as you circle them, you can avoid their potions and like you throwing your own potion, they aren't that ranged, so you need to be quite close to be hit. Its not all that bad as with a couple of sword stikes they go down easy though you need to take more caution to not spend to much time attacking or you will die.
ALSO note that pigs now can be riden. This was there in the last few snapshots back though I think it is to note that the carrot on the stick now doesn't always have to be in your hand. When you get your pig up to speed you can swich to your bow or sword and still steer your piggy. The pig will very slowly start to slow down after you switch, so switching back and forth will keep the speed up. This allows you to fight as a calvery unit and makes fighting mobs easier to some degree and more challenging. I am glad that this is a feature added into the game. Although I think there should be a method to also quickly stop your piggy so you dont run past the point you want to stop in town and not lose your pig getting off.
Again thanks for the change to how logs are placed. I like that allot.
I'll comment more when I find more to write about.
Play the snap Shot, You will find out what I am talking about
I played it. The wood is actually probably the best. I 100% agree that a change in the noises would be awesome. But can they make it sound normal?
1. Sand sounds like walking on wet mud or something. Needs to be softer
2. Dirt sounds normal.
3. Grass sounds should be a choppier noise.
4.Since when to spiders make sticky slugey noises? Or is that the chickens?
5. Cows moos end half way so its like, "mo-" and 'hruu-'. Should go just a little longer.
Ill contact C418 somehow and tell him about these. Hes apparently looking for feedback other than "The noises are horrible because you suck"
The bats are a very nice , unexpected addition . The witches , while not my first choice for a Halloweeny type mob...work well . With decent armor and sword they arent to hard , but could definitely smoke you if you were not prepared .
The new noises ,
1. The new deeper cow moo should be a longer sound effect , I prefer it over the old one actually . but both would be good .
2. The new spider "scuttling" sound is awesome .
3. The new/old enderman sounds...again awesome .
4. I like the heavy zombie footsteps .
5. The skeleton sounds arent bad , but they just need alittle work...
6. Sand has to much of a "wet" sound to it....
7. Snow sound is definitely to quiet now , but does sound better .
8. Grass , needs some work , its just "off" right now...
9. Wooden planks , there seems to be far to much reverb and it sounds to synthetic right now .
10. The new shearing sheep noise is perfect .
11. The new flint and steel sound , while not as impressive as the old "whoosh!" , sounds closer to real , just needs alittle work .
12. I like the new lava sound much better .
13. The ladder sounds , seem to be alittle to much , just tone them down and it would be good .
Opinions:
-Bats need cute (occasional/rarely triggering) squeeks!
-Witches should be green or grey...something to make them more unique
-The new wood placement is awesome, much easier to build walls with them without needing to chop them
down from a slight angle error on the players part.
--The lava sound is too much like a slowed down water sample. the old one was better....hisses, blurps etc.
Bugs:
I'm playing MC on a mac, so I can only report these bugs from a Mac perspective.
-XP sound is way too loud. (in comparison to other game sounds)
-Pigs aren't playing any new sounds.
-Sheep aren't playing any new sounds
-Chickens aren't playing any new sounds
-New cow sounds cut off and overlap awkwardly
-raw dirt sound is too loud (in comparison to other surface sounds)
-grass sound is too quiet (in comparison to other surface sounds)
-shears wont cut leaves/grass any more
NO.
Get Xamio sound pack mod for the old minecraft sounds. Its easy to install.
This is a failed argument which I can easily destroy.
Imagine they changed all the textures to solid pink. All the sounds to fart sounds. All the villagers to giant rendered middle fingers. Millions of people are forced to patch this to play vanilla. Millions of people subjected to a bunch of stupid garbage and each forced to individually accept it or fix it. They have no right to complain about that? Yes, actually they do. Millions of people have a right to complain when you make them fix things Mojang broke.
Also, it is undeniable that most people will not do these modifications. Look beyond your own selfishness for a single second of your life. We are not just arguing against these sound changes because we are lazy about altering what WE hear. We are arguing against the sound changes because it will affect millions of people who AREN'T going to change the sounds, many of them may be new players or casual players who will just be suffering through the new sounds.
Minecraft sounds changed and why? What is the justification? Minecraft has sold millions of copies. It isn't a BETA anymore. Heck, even when it was a "beta" it was an established and popular game, loved by millions. It's too late to change basic things about the game. It's doing more harm than good. The classic sounds are an institution, they are part of the identity of Minecraft. I have a right to complain about them wrecking the identity of Minecraft, regardless of what I choose to have go into my own eyes or ears.
I have a hard time to understand all the complaining about the witch being OP as ther is not a single mob that spawns that can be a threat after iron armor has been crafted unless you are new to the game.

All I keep reading over and over are a bunch of people that do not want to adapt to change...I think you all better get ready for alot more changes then that...I heard they are working on making a new , and far better sound engine for the game . This has been a change lots and lots of people have wanted for a long time , for many reasons...Sure there are a few annoyances with a couple of the sounds . But guess what , this is a snapshot...things change , and if they really are working on a new sound engine , some of these may not be there , or completely different...and if a new engine is coming...ALL the sounds may be getting a change .
The original sounds and some of the graphics were simply place holders until they eventually made better ones...as someone who has made games for along time , I know about using place holders for things...you want to test it , things work , you add more stuff , and sometimes you just do not have the time to go back and make them better as you imagined them to be in the first place...Just because people are used to it , is no reason not to change them . Most people are not completely selfish to their own petty wants , that they can adapt and live with changes that the game designers want for THEIR game...Most people that make games , make them first and foremost for themselves...not for anyone else . Money is a secondary issue when working on something you love .
Just be glad they continue to work on their game , and give you these updates for free . It was stated that after official release they can and might be charging for updates...and most other companies in this day and age...would . The day the stop caring and cease to actually add to the game , and leave it to just the modders...is the day the game begins to die...
I suggest you all complaining about the new sounds...Turn off your computer for awhile...go outside , admire the scenery...then come back , log into Minecraft , build a bridge...and get over it!
they should really limit the bat spawning to default... my superflat city is pretty effed up, they spawn more commonly in lower levels, caves or superflat. and they should spawn underground, because they can also spawn in large hollow areas even with light and openings. I made some skyscrapers and when I was done making egg factories I flew around and my comp died because of all the bats in the buildings. but when they hang upside down is epic! I just love to throw splash potions of harming at bats on the ceiling...
That's because it's minecraftwiki.NET, not .com.

right now they only spawn by eggs, so they will likely be very rare or specific to certain conditions
