nah works great for me, I love the ability to switch game modes in server. I had an issue on sunday where i couldn't login to my server, but turning online-mode=false solved the issue. it was querying minecraft.net and i heard amazon had some issues then, but online mode works just as good
can't wait for the final bug free version, hopefully bukkit will start pumping out craftbukkit jars i can use and things can start rolling again.
How do you download for macs. Also I wonder if silverfish are hostle, or passive-aggresive, or if they drop anything. Any of you PC's that have downloaded the test please tell me
@Wilberforce, you replace the minecraft.jar in your bin folder found inside the .minecraft folder which is accessed through type %appdata% in the start search bar if you have windows 7. otherwise i think you can just replace the folder directory, that bar in every folder screen.

Anyways 1.8 is really great and I am excited for the 1.8.1 Pre-Release update that Jeb mentioned, particularly because it adds 3 strongholds to every map instead of just 1 and cuts the spawn rate of mining shafts in half.
The latter is really good because atm almost every space underground is just mining shafts XD
P.S. In case Jeb is reading this: Is there anyway to increase Ocean sizes?

The prerelease works great both for multiplayer and singleplayer, but lately my multiplayer has been crashing for an unexplained reason. (or i just dont understand) but the error sais on minecraft: "Internal exception: Java.netSocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed." And my server sais "[INFO] (name) lost connection: disconnect.overflow." Are there any ways i can fix this and what might be causing it? Please help.
ever since i replaced the 1.7.3 minecraft.jar with the 1.8 .jar my minecraft when i play has been crashing every 10 seconds and it's really annoying. anyway to stop this???
p.s. i spawned on stone with a 17 iron seam right next to it.
For all the people who complain about various things not working, remember the following:
To install, you go to the .minecraft folder, and replace the minecraft.jar with this new one. Delete minecraft-1-7-3.jar (or whatever its called)
If you have any client mods installed previously, I suggest a clean install BEFORE you update - ie, delete the entire bin folder and open minecraft, then do the step above.
Also remember, NO custom texture pack above 16x will work right at the moment, as there isn't a patch fix yet. 16x texture packs need to be updated, or you wont be able to see your new xp bars etc or any new items. PM me and I'll tell you how to update the texture pack yourself to have basic minecraft textures where textures are missing.
Finally, if you use custom clients (like Spoutcraft) they won't work with it yet, you need to use the standard client.
I think thats everything.. Don't forget this is a pre-release of a beta game. You can't really get anything more "demo" than that so there WILL be bugs.
(OH and to fly in creative mode, double jump. Trading that for anyone who can tell me to do the "block stance")
