To enable 1.8 pre-release, go into your Minecraft bin, you have your minecraft.jar (JAR FILE, NOT FOLDER) (so you need to re-install mc or forceupdate) Replace the Minecraft.jar in your bin with the one you downloaded. Some mods are updated for it, so just do the steps if you wish to add your mods. (Compress mincraft unzip rename your minecraft folder etc)
Can anyone post a screen of a village they found? I found one, but it was kinda messed up due to where it generated.
But I'd like to see others.
The only glitch I came across was one with the furnace causing a crash after trying to add some sand to make glass.
I saw others having this issue too though, along with all the lag.
Other than that, no others. I'm looking forward to the full release of this update, though! Really awesome so far.
I am not sure I like the new lighting... Anyway I have only found 1 Enderman. I am actually getting quite a good frame rate...almost better than 1.73. Well all in all I quite like the update. Completely of topic but I just found a spider jockey.

Does multiplayer not work? I have a working minecraft 1.8 server and I gave my friend my external ip (67.184.224.147) But he can't connect to it but I can. Will someone please tell me why?
not really just place it in first you have to delete your 1.7.3 jar or move it to a seperate folder if you still want it then put the 1.8adventure update jar into the bin and BOOM there you go you officially have minecraft 1.8 pre release adventure update version of minecraft PS. so far the only mod that works with 1.8 version is to many items mod but you have to get the updated version for it to work if you input 1.7.3's to many items it will give a load error
One issue I have noticed is that when I actually have an item in the workbench then leave it the items pop out but some of them seem to be ghost items. I loot the some and have the correct amount I should but these ghost items just hang about til I save and reload the map. I have had it happen with sticks, coal, and brown mushrooms. If you need anymore info about it let me know.
i cant wait till it comes out for real and notch irons out the bugs and glitches
(i have 1 question and thats "why silverfish and not bees or something else")
Endermen make no noise. It was probably just a nearby zombie.

Maybe map generated bedrock should be indestructible?
