The idea of this really is quite overwhelming. Creepers are a bit intimidating enough when its black out and you're not watching where you are going, but this would be nothing if there was a mob that was maybe faster because it may have muscles [Skellie fail], it may have purposeful intelligence [Zombie fail] and it may have legs that are actually meant for walking [Creeper fail]. The fact that it may be able to take blocks and either destroy them or hurl them at you, just adds to the effect. Gratz Notch. Crisis? Dead space? Nope. MINECRAFT.
