Possibly they are NPC's that are incomplete skinwise. Or they can be horrific monsters that tear down a 50x50 mansion in under 5 min then kill you and bring you back to life so they can kill you again. You never know.

I didn't sift through all 94 pages to see if anyone else suggested this. Wouldn't it be cool if these are the restless souls of your past lives? I mean, every time you die, you leave one behind, wandering aimlessly, placing and picking up blocks. If you don't make the effort to seek them out and kill them, they will find you and mine away your precious base while you are sleeping.
On the Minecraft wiki, it says what the new mob is called! It's called Endermen. It says Notch got the idea from Slendermen, so a lot of you were right!
yeah man it looks like a creepy squid, i hope that they only pick up blocks that could be shovled so that they cant get through cobblestone walls, but if they do notch should add a mob selection on/off switch for all creatures (like mo creatures). cuz not everyone is a fan of diggy diggy wall squids
Is it normal for that link in the initial page that showed the original picture, to have one of those member comments on the side end up showing FREAKING weird "data corruption" like it's being hacked or has a virus?
EDIT: Wait nvm, after I clicked on the link a 2nd time I noticed its a google+ page...
When I initially clicked it it brought me to a black screened page with the pic on the left and member comments on the right...
Can they grief stuff?:No because if they would it would be really weird and annoying
Can they build:Probably not,but if they would,it would be really buggy,and would take more time to take patch 1.8 out.
Can they pick up stuff?:Its probable of them to pick up some light-weighted blocks,like sand,dirt "As shown in the picture" but maybe not heavy ones like stone,cobble.
Where did this Mob come from?:A guy in a forum post showed notch the "Slenderman" with a picture thats shows a person in a dark suit and no face,notch then got inspired by The Slenderman to make this new Mob "Enderman".
PS: Its more probable of these guys to spawn in a dessert area or in a forest like mushroom area,considering the giant mushroom in the right,and the dessert biome,also if you looked in the wiki as i did and clicked dragon it said at the end that it might have been added to the 1.8 update,since its adventure,but jeb was thinking of putting the dragon in a more later update.
