Info pertaining to the giant mushroom, from Minecraft Wiki:
"Huge mushrooms will appear in a new biome, and they won't appear in forests or other biomes unless they are planted."
Could this be a screenshot of a new biome? Perhaps Endermen only appear in this new biome. Admittedly, it doesn't look that different from the normal Minecraft biomes.
