Looks like some sort of alien. That would make the most sense considering you cant confirm what an alien really looks like so you would just make them a dark, shadowy figure with long limbs. Intractable with the environment? That's a little scary but also very excitingly awesome. >
Man, after reading Notch's plans for the AI for the mob, I'm freaked. I'm never going to leave my house. Ever. Ever. I will just sit in the corner, behind my bed, and rock back and forth, holding my pickaxe, mumbling to myself.
I love the idea of this game, you arrive alone in this world that looks beautiful only to find the horrors appear after dark. Then terrible creepers sneak up and blow you to bits destroying the land, in the nether horrible noises from every angle haunt you and now these new creepy thin black creatures appear with blocks in hand I can only hope they emit some awful sound and scare the hell outta me more.
there obviosly evil night squid that come out of the water at night to gather blocks to build there giant under water city at the deepest part of the ocean :wink.gif:

Correction, he's adding to the fear into every minecraft players heart. The creeper is by far the worst enemy to come across, because it doesn't make any noise (spider = spider noise, zombie = groan, archer = sound with arrows, creeper = silence) and that's what makes creepers so scary. By the time you realize he's there (sneaky creeper), he blows you apart with little warning. That is what strikes fear into every minecraft players heart. This will just add to the fear and mayhem. So let the games begin when they arrive!

*EDIT* Not sure how "official" its is as it shows "Minecraft Beta 1.8" in the corner. Version numbering was removed while in game in the last patch or two. It's scary none the less.
They are called Endermen, as blogged by Notch. They can pick up blocks and are neutral unless you look directly at them, i mean put your courser right over it, then it freezes and stares at you, then when you turn around, or stop looking at it, it CHARGES at you... O.O
I already use SPC Mod to make it daytime but this just makes me put the loop thing on so the sun never moves XD. But thats creepy cuz right when you arent suspecting it andd you look away BLAM your hit and your like HOLY **** and run the hell away but you dont succeed and then your like FUUUUUUUUUUU and rage quit minecraft. LAWL thats probably best-case scenario also XD
