To me, they look like a big squid skeleton that can pick up blocks to trash and get into places(oh god). They also look sorta like a dead skeletal Herobrine(You can see by the eyes) :mellow.gif: It looks they can do some major damage too!
These new mobs look like they are going to be a nightmare for redstone builders (looking at you Voxel Box & the Redstone Development Society) if it can take and place blocks...
They're clearly the A.I. that is the new builders in the game. Therefore they are hostile, non-hostile, or help you(like wolves). And it appears they only spawn around giant mushrooms(I bet by breaking it they get mad, and the stuff the mushrooms made of is probably something you'll need to survive in 1.8). Just my thoughts.
But great, more annoyances is exactly what we need. orz
