To me, they look like a big squid skeleton that can pick up blocks to trash and get into places(oh god). They also look sorta like a dead skeletal Herobrine(You can see by the eyes) It looks they can do some major damage too!
I'm so glad Notch is creating unusual mobs instead of implementing boring critters already featured in thousand of other games, it helps to keep MC fresh and unique. Goddamn, I know nothing about this new mob and already foretaste the moment it will scare the crap out of me (until I realize how simple is its AI and find a way to make it no more than a nuance, but that's an other story).
Apparently it can hold objects, I'm wondering if it's going to have something to do with the new NPC's. AI testing, maybe?
It doesn't seem to fit with the other mobs, IMO. Notch has been doing good so far, so I think he'll find a good way to use this new mob.
They open your house up for creepers.
