Oh my god you can start some serious forest fires in this update. I just watched one lava pool burn down half a large jungle biom. It was awesome. I lagged out before I could watch it spread farther.
I agree with this completely, I like the idea of the wither and the way it is developing and I also like everything in this snapshot, but I also think the summoning method is silly! it'd like I'm making a utility mod, oh ****! it's raping and destroying everything!!
So in the spirit of idea development and generation, i'm going to give you my spin on how I think would be cool to summon the wither boss! So anyone who also thinks it's a silly idea, or even doesn't, comment and help develop an interesting idea and someone spam jeb/dinnerbone with it later
So what I had in mind is, you create a "square circle" of soul sand in the over-world, then put 6-8 wither skulls around the edge facing into the circle centre (summoning a boss shouldn't be easy " then at midnight, when there is a full moon, you light a fire or put a new unspecific item into the middle and a wither will be born out of the centre, like how it swells up in from the utility mod design, is invulnerable for a few seconds then proceeds to crushing everything!
Some people want to spawn it in Nether fortresses. It would be cool to have a hugely griefed nether fortress just sitting in a sea of lava.
The problem with a failure to give credit for their work is that it may even be considered a violation of copyright. That would be something for a bunch of lawyers to take up,
..........................................It takes a Copy-written Material in order to violate a copyright law, in fact what country/lawyer group would you surmise is going to hold responsibility of upholding a mod? no one, in fact you are completely wrong. The mods have no copyright, therefore Mojang is not infringing upon anyone's rights.
Unless you mean it the other way around, there are no laws that protect someones thoughts, ideas, creations. UNLESS you file to have those rights, and a judicial system intends to uphold that right.
I see no mods EVER and i mean EVER getting copywritten. You are working on Mojangs medium in the first place, Mojang should be sueing modders for infringing their rights.
If you add a function in MC that you think is missing, then make a mod for it! But Mojang can and may always take these! In fact, I encourage them to...
But things like the glacier mod, gelatin mod and the tekkit mod are for fun, these will never be "stolen". Some people want the best MC experience available but don't want mods from random users, they want to play what Mojang gives us.
seeds to breed chickens makes sense, but I'd really love if you could just throw the seeds down on the ground and have them coming running to eat them.
Definitely liking what I'm seeing from these snapshots overall. However, I think they either need to tweak the beacon block or come up with a new use for it. It is simply too impractical and ridiculously expensive to use in survival, and since Withers are only really needed for the nether star...well, I'm not sure if I'll ever have any reason to spawn and kill one.
I hate to be a party pooper, but i was playing around with the update and found this bug:
Sheep, when turned invisible via the invisibility splash potion, will turn invisible, but their wool coat will remain, making it a limbless, headless sheep until the invisibility wears off
=D
i would attach my screenshot of it, but i dont know how =D

It's because the wool is the sheep's "armor" and armor doesn't turn invisible.
I do like the way the sky darkens when you create a Wither boss....even though I wish they were naturally occuring mobs...Either in a nether fortress , or in those large round dirt rooms we have been finding forever in the overworld . Better yet , add a little alter in those round dirt rooms where you have to place 3 wither skulls to summon it in there .

Ride the pig with a saddle and you can stear the pig with the carrot on a stick. Its a way to control it
the wither can be spawned in the regular world i think
Or atleast thats what they said on reddit. Yes you can wear the mob heads like you can pumpkins.

Also, am I the only one who's ocelots won't turn to cats?
