Although not really a bug, I found that on multiplayer, experience seems to cause crazy amounts of lag. Whenever a player with lots of xp died, all that xp would drop and anyone close by would get 1 fps. The serverhost confirmed that its not a serverside problem, but a client problem.
This really isn't a bug but its a suggestion to make 1.8 alot more fun, just remove The XP Bar and XP orbs, if you have alot of XP when you die it will create a massive amount of lag(espcailly when you drown in a deep lake) and just ruin the sever untill they despawn (if they do that) or you spend over an hour trying to walk ten blocks to retrive Your items and XP Orbs.
i am having a bug! whenever i just barley look down my skin goes transparent black and when i look all the way it goes all the way and some of the chests and signs are acting like that too!
It's not really a bug, maybe just something they would want to change, but if part of an abandoned mine spawns in an already formed cave, it puts wooden arches in mid-air which is unrealistic and looks strange. Also, a tip for anyone who wants to keep playing but has the furnace issue, try only using the furnace at night. It shouldn't crash then.
After a player death on a small 3-4 person multiplayer server, CPU will spike to 100% on the server and FPS will drop to 1 or 2. My theory is that it's likely due to a large amount of experience balls being dispersed.
Also saw a null pointer exception while cooking raw fish over coal and switching the coal out to wood planks.
Just confirmed that it was indeed the experience balls - after having the player log out and log back in, frame rate picked up and experience was being collected faster. After all the experience had been picked up, the server returned to normal.
Well my minecraft crashed on the first night when putting torch it did not light up room, I broke the torch and game crashed : (.. But will continue testing..
edit: O yeah my game also crashes upon putting anything into the furnace. When loading game back up stuff continue cooking till finished.
Hi guys, I ran Minecraft from the command-line and forced the game to crash with the furnace. This is the error message I get -
java.lang.NullPointerException
at zz.b_(SourceFile:111)
at ru.l(SourceFile:1193)
at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.k(SourceFile:1401)
at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.run(SourceFile:693)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Stopping!
Well duh. Slimes have specific chunks and wolves are rare.
Diamond is rare.
Also:
May have been reported, but lighting bug for chests in hand and on the ground.
i haven't read all the posts, so sorry if i repeat anything D:
right clicking tamed wolves seems a little too sensitive. i discovered an island in creative mode that had 20 odd wolves on it... so naturally, with my love of wolves and unlimited bone supply i tamed them all up THEN started building... this hasn't gone well. if my crosshair is pointing where a wolf is sitting... regardless of distance and i go to place a block, the wolf gets up and comes to me... a lot of splatted wolves have resulted.
i need to point out that this is happening THROUGH blocks, for example when i was placing my roof, i was looking directly at the wall below me... and suddenly a wolf TPs up to me.
i'm not sure if it's intentional either, but in creative mode, you cannot access your small inventory without going to a chest. if it is intentional... it's very annoying!
The biggest bug that I've seen so far is when you get killed by a mob(creeper/zombie/skeleton/enderman/spider/etc..) and/or player and all of your held items and experience orbs drop to the ground, it ends up causing the game to become very lagged from having to process all of the dropped items and experience orbs. After picking up all the items and experience orbs, that area where you died stops lagging. This really becomes a problem if you die in a cavern beneath your house because it seems to almost create a lag area that goes from the bedrock level all the way to the sky height limit of the world. The radius is a couple chunks in a square radius of wherever you died.
I think the best way for this issue to be fixed would probably be to make the experience orbs remain in your exp. bar and to not drop like the inventory items do. Inventory items being dropped from death doesn't seem to have as much of an impact as the experience orbs do when dropped from death.
Other than that, everything seems to be okay. A few other minor bugs are mainly with the lighting and terrain generator. The lighting seems to have the dark blocks until you break one or place a torch next to them and the terrain has slight issues with placing torches in the strongholds (e.g. sometimes they don't place on the block intended and thus hang freely). Anyways, keep up the awesome work Team Mojang! n_n
In my minecraft Server, when someone dies with alot of XP, the whole server lags and i have to restart it and then get the xp again. Notch should add that when someone dies they only drop a certain amount of Xp but when they respawn they lose it all
I leave you with 2 common examples, the chest and the painting.

Of course, other blocks such as stones have similar issues..
Also saw a null pointer exception while cooking raw fish over coal and switching the coal out to wood planks.

Hope this helps. :wink.gif:
