Just discovered a bug regarding the furnace; While playing on Survival mode, if you put a piece of coal in a furnace, then take it back out while the 'flame' animation is playing, exit the world, then come back in, you'll find that you now have a furnace that runs on absolutely nothing.
More bugs/glitches:
The lighting engine is cool, but the way it alters your characters hand is sort of weird, as in your arm goes from really really dark, to day-time level lighting by moving your arm around sometimes.
I feel like I cheated when I killed my first Enderman. He was caught behind a tree, so all I had to do was punch at him and avoid a nearby skeleton's arrows. If the Enderman behavior could be edited so that they can pick up blocks to attack you, that would be 100% cool, and scary to boot.
As I've seen mentioned before, wolves turn black in water.
Torches that have been pre-made inside of mine shafts don't properly light, which means you have to take them down and put them back up to get a light source from it.
...And that's about all I've been able to find so far. I haven't even seen a stronghold/ruin/village yet, so I'm eager to get back out there and brave the night some more, with massive hordes of creepers and zombies at my heels.
My Game Keeps Crashing!! Keeps saying "Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working" Is it just java problem cuz I've tried reinstalling java but doesnt seem to work!!... or is it a bug in the game? How can I fix this?!?!?
the 4x4 painting of the flaming skull shows up as completely black on mac. i took it down and put the painting up again, looking for the skull cus i thought maybe it was a onetime thing, but then i got another 4x4 black painting.
Imported a ship I'm working on (Klingon Bird of Prey)into Creative mode so that I could get started making it compatible with 1.8 and also add some new features to it. Problem I had was with redstone torches. Circuits that I had set up for blinking running lights weren't doing anything and several sliding piston doors would slide open but not reset. Seems that the bug is redstone torches that are placed on vertical surfaces(such as in inverter mode) won't reset after being activated. To check this out import anything with a complex circuit set up, such as a larger spaceship or one of the big music boxes. I'm sure that at least one or two torches will show this behavior.
When punching a block under water from above no "breaking" animation is shown. I had no problem seeing the animation when I was under water with the block however.

Try redownloading minecraft (like the 1.7.3) By reinstall i mean go into .minecraft the delete the folder. Pull up minecraft and redownload. You might have issues redownloading if you do start the download when it freezes exit out then try to play it again and say no to force update then exit out when its done loading and do the same again but say yes. This should work. Then replace the jar for the pre release 1.8. If this doesn't work make sure no mods are installed at all. Other than that good luck. P.S. If this helped please click on the plus in the lower right hand corner.
In creative mode, you can have a ranged diamond sword just by swinging. You can hit enemies from like 20 blocks away. Though, I do get the feeling this was more intentional then a bug.
NPC Villages are a little wonky and the XP orbs suck since they aren't gonna do anything for a while and just create lag on SMP
Biggest problem is currently im running a MC server for me and 2 friends so far running great Except that when one of us dies after awhile and drops all his exp orbs. there are soo many that it causes mass ammounts of lag Is there a way to turn off exp? or perhaps make the exp orbs in different values like when you hit 2k exp it converts into a single orange orb or something to help cut down on the ammount of orbs dropped?
