I ran 1.8 with "javaw -Xms512M -Xmx512M -cp Minecraft.exe net.minecraft.LauncherFrame" and placing fuel in furnaces crashed/exited the game with "saving chunks". I doubled the memory amount to 1024M and the issue hasn't been seen since.
Alright i found a Bad bug for server's with the xp orb's when u die and u ahev alot it will lagg the whole Server! Notch needs to make the orbs less so like 100 xp orbs come out or 500 or other ones like that to make less lag for servers! or make a toggle for xp
Oh, and also sometimes when I put iron ore (may happen with others) in a furnace I suddenly get a page that says "saving chunks" but kind of weird double text, and it crashes.
Not sure if this is a bug or not, a friend of mine whos PC I built ran the game fine in 1.7, now he finds it too laggy to play
1gb video card (dont know what it is since hes replaced the gpu since I built it, I do believe its an Nvidia though)
2gb of DDR2 Ram
Athlon 64X2 CPU
350gb Sata 3.0gb/s HD
He says he used to get around 60fps now hes pulling 20 or less, and the game seems to run really fast then bam lag spike everything freezes up, its become unplayable for him
Now on my end I can confirm the game does run slower now as of 1.8 I used to get 60+FPS now I'm doing about 50-55
I have a Phenom x6 2.8 cpu
8gb DDR3 ram
and 1gb ATI Radeon 5850 (specifically the XFX XXX edition one)
750GB HD sata 6.0gb/s
When using a workbench if you leave an item on the bench when you back out it drops to the floor where you can pick it up again, however the item also stays on the floor can not be picked up again and again, and if I knock out the floor blocks under it the items fall like they are there and can be picked up. I do believe this is related to an item duping bug others have reported.
A Bug Found, When working on Furnace/Crafting table and exiting it Allowing your items to drop you do pick them up however the specific Items stay there floating as if you didn't. I have tried saving and re-entering still there. Just thought I'd let You Know and I shall Be testing for more
Since I just ran into a swamp when I got to my new chunks, vines:
- Can be placed on the same block over and over again effectively wasting your items
- Destroying the top one will not drop the ones below it (may be intentional)
- Will grow up a roof (may not be a bug, but it looks kinda cool):
If using a workbench and you leave an item on it when you pick it up you can get an extra item, I did this with cobblestone
1-put 1 cobble stone on work bench, had 63 in inventory
2-exit workbench, had 64 + 1 in inventory after picking up item
3-moved the one to a different inventory slot, 64+1+1 in inventory, but the last +1 was a phantom stone it didn't stack with the others.
I found a village generated around a deep ravine. While cool, the door to one house was out in the ravine where I couldn't get to it without flying, and the rest of the house was buried.
Plus there was as street lamp hovering out in midair.
Bug: Vanishing Creeper
while leaving my base to collect some lava from an above ground stream I looked back at my base and saw a creeper hanging out on a ledge by the side wall, I moved closer he turned to look at me and promptly vanished
After a while I have found a NPC village. The memory allocation jumped from around 700 MB to 950 MB (100%) and never come back (even after I left the village).
This caused a stratospheric amount of lag. Two things makes me think :
1. I have never experienced that before (I always play with all set to maximum and I never had lag). 700 to 950 MB are quite a lot for a game like Minecraft... I play new games with full detail on 3 screens and all goes perfectly. it's also strange that when it reaches the maximum it never came down again...
2. 950MB of memory available. In my computer there is nothing with that amount of memory :
- Hard disks have more than 2TB free.
- RAM blocks are two 1600MHz DDR3 4GB
- Video memory is an HD4970 with 2 Gigabyte (tomorrow I will mount the second graphic GPU to get 4GB).
I guess it is referred to the RAM memory but why it doesn't recognize the whole memory? When I check the usage of memory with other software I see that I have 5 to 6 GB free!
