I made a fresh 1.8 vanilla world to test(and play) 1.8...
Here is the changes I have found so far(some bugs omitted due to being too common).
Hot:
+Doors with right-side hinges keep monsters out while sleeping!
+More eggs
+Block attacks with sword
+Day/Night Longer
+Better Hills/Mountain
Not:
-Game crashes when furnace changes state(HOWEVER, the first 1.8 world I made, this did not happen, weird) Also, sometimes it fixes itself?
-General lag
-Items are duplicated when placing them in crafting bench and pressing E. When fishing poles are duplicated, it leaves and INFINITE amount of fishing poles on the ground. SEVERE - ANY fishing poles dropped are unable to be picked up, and attempting to pick them begins to fill your free inventory with that fishing pole.
in pre-1.8 worlds it doesn't get dark at night in caves it still gets dark though. Another bug is that if a glass pane or metal bar is pushed into another pane/bar there is a gap between it and the piston head. I've also found no endermen on easy but that might be intentional. I also can't find any NPC Villages.most of the time mobs flee towards you and try to run past (obviously failing at doing so) making it easier to kill. These are the only in-game bugs i've found so far so it's pretty awesome i also love the pigs new noses

I made it. Take a look. actually pmc took it down and gave me no reason as to why. if you do know why please pm me with the answer.
rain travels through blocks. or at least it is for my house. its made out of wood i dont know for sure if other blocks are affected but it also seems that it only does it if theres only 1 layer of block cuz its not underground or in the doorway where theres 2 layers. it doest go underwater like it did when weather first released though.
Umm.. If you Make a picaxe, If you place the materials for a tool in a C Table, And take the tool, and press ESC without placing the tool anywhere, the tool AND the materials required to make it fall out of your inventory.
You can retrieve the tool, but the materials make a weird graphical glitch.
My Minecraft crashes when I chop down trees, and when I take items out of a furnace, or begin to smelt something. :/ Everyone has posted these, but I just want to make sure this becomes a priority because I love it, and every 5 seconds I can't enjoy this game for what it is :sad.gif:

Is it possible that life has no meaning and we are wandering around aimlessly searching for one.
From what I can tell, the furnace issue can be worked around by using exclusively coal in the furnace. Not charcoal, not wood or anything else. Just the coal you mine up from the ground seems to keep it from crashing in Windows SMP at least.
Also, I haven't seen any hint of weather in SMP on Windows 7. No snow on the ground, and it never rains.
I was killed by a creeper in my 1.7 world while playing 1.8 survival mode on normal. When I respawned and came to collect my items, I received an infinite stream of experience orbs that just kept filling the XP bar continuously. It stopped when I pressed escape to get to the menu.
While serching around in creative and mining around in survival I've found a few of the abandoned mines. Alot of them are glitchy and floating. Click Here to see one. Also the items fallen from a crafting table is a big one i see that posted alot. Another is if you go to full player veiw (F5) while under water the sky is black, I suppose this could be intentional. And the last really noticable bug ive seen is the NPC houses are really messed up. (door on wrong, torches dont produce light, half buildings etc.) Thanks!
NPCs will be implemented in 1.9
i love the big biomes it make sit so more relistic =)

-Flicker from torches looks odd
-Sleeping outside doesn't make monsters attack
