I haven't really used the snapshot yet, so is this in the snapshot, is this a mod, or is mojang making this???Being a constructive person, I'd probably end up using tripwires as like clothlines or something awesome, lol.
I don't think anyone will be fooled by those tripwires due to that white coloring that is fairly easy to see. Also, the tripwires don't appear to be placable in midair D:
Edit:
Do you want a cookie or something?
You'd be surprised at how often people keep walking into very visible traps.
Please, no tripwires. I'm not calling this a stupid idea, but this is far from the RPG elements that Minecraft is supposed to be about. Why are we suggesting such idiotic (to me) ideas of creating more elaborate traps instead of adding more functions to the game to add to the playability of the game? For example, we have a leveling system, why not be able to level each of your stats (Health - up to two rows of hearts, Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Swordsmanship, etc.) With the possibilty of being able to change names, it seems like we're trying to make a giant toybox for griefers now instead of actually giving it some semplance of the RPG that Notch wanted. I'm not saying that we shouldn't add this, but that other, better ideas, should be worked on. Who would like to acutally be able to raise a mini Enderdragon from the egg you get from the Nether? How about some Nether ore?
Call me crazy, but I think Minecraft is a sandbox game, and always has been. In which case tripwires would definitely be a needed feature because this could potentially add potential triggers to our redstone computers.
I can see this as being a better way to open up double doors rather than having two pressure plates. Hate it when I only step on one and one door opens and I run into the other. Then the door closes and... GAH! Hate that. Also this will be good for mob farmers and for people who like traps in smp. Although I would think you would have to reset the wires every time they are tripped so that would dismiss all that I've said. We'll see what Jeb and the gang will do.
Congratz to Matt and Asia! Hopefully you'll be able to build on your good start and create something awesome =P (Apologies for the puns)
Tripwires sound an awesome concept...I love the way they can be deactivated with shears xD We have needed a new way of activating things for a while, this could be the next step. I hope it makes it through the conceptual and testing stages to a snapshot sometime :3

That's true. This is Minecraft, not Runescape. Minecraft is a "do whatever you want" game where the levels are not necessary but can be useful...in other games such as Runescape, the levels are necessary to advance.

We did not see a fluid merge of SSP and SMP. We saw a horrible system full of bugs, that will fail worse than netflix's qwikster. Fix the things that are in game before you waste our time with things we do not want.
They are working on the bugs and issues that are currently in game. Why do you think they even release the weekly snapshots, so idiots like you can ***** about how many bugs there are instead of reporting those bugs? I don't know how you even were able to install the snapshot with that intelligence level -.- Know the **** your talking about if your going to complain, instead of being a dumbass troll.
What minecraft really needs is to add the remaining potions.
I know there's a lot but two potions that SHOULD be added iss the growth and shrinking potion from the Guvemer mod.
But cool trip wires!
With this tripwire we need faster detonating TNT. Maybe also make it non block damaging. Perhaps being able to combine it to physically look like a button or switch or even any other block would help.
Mounting/Controlling Mobs: The ability to mount and control mobs (possibly horses). Notch confirmed it was planned but will take time at Get Satisfaction.[38] Also Jeb said on a reddit AMA in April 2012 that he "more or less promised horses to a friend".[39]
That isn't any guarantee. It has probably already been dropped. Notch promised some news place (PCgamer?) that he would make the sky dimension, and that never happened.
The "upcoming features" section of the MCwiki is not something to go by at all..... I doubt well see hardly any of it in the next year (or ever). Jeb_ and Dinnerbone have bigger horses to fry.
EDIT: Not to mention Mojang doesn't not support GetSatisfaction anymore....

It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Armor stands, weapon racks, display cases, and a book stand, that is how.
They make pits and crushing walls oh so much more fun!
