We did not see a fluid merge of SSP and SMP. We saw a horrible system full of bugs, that will fail worse than netflix's qwikster. Fix the things that are in game before you waste our time with things we do not want.
Speak for yourself. Waiting less time for updates, mods,etc... I'm looking forward to it, even if I do have to spend like two days \ hoping for bugfixes.

Define Cute (choose 1): A) Creepers Aerbunnies C) Herobrine. If you chose A): You appeal to destruction and to stereotypes. If you chose B): You are a perfectly normal person, and enjoy the Aether Mod. If you chose C): Please leave the planet now before you set off a nuclear warhead--no one enjoys mass murders, however nice they might seem to you.
You can use tripwires to make 1 shot devices by making a piston that cuts the tripwire.

"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly.
It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Creepers won't stand a chance! In fact, I will probably create a system where I use myself as bait for a creeper, lure him into a wall of cats, and then have him flee into a tripwire, activating some dispensers loaded with fire-charges >
The main issue I have with tripwires is that they don't break when you step past them and you can't put them in midair. Other than that, it looks pretty cool.
Good idea, but... the graphics look awfully out of place. It's not Minecraft. Too much detail on the model (I would've used something like the current levers we have) and the texture is not 16x16, which makes it look absolutely awful on top of the 16x16 floors. It'd be a good idea, but the graphics of it do not fit with the rest of the visuals... please consider changing it.
That's why it's called an experiment. At this point, it doesn't matter what it looks like.

and they're not completely done with the merging of SSP and SMP -- bugs are expected! they'll get rid of the issues before the final release of the new update, of course.
I'm not calling this a stupid idea, but this is far from the RPG elements that Minecraft is supposed to be about. Why are we suggesting such idiotic (to me) ideas of creating more elaborate traps instead of adding more functions to the game to add to the playability of the game? For example, we have a leveling system, why not be able to level each of your stats (Health - up to two rows of hearts, Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Swordsmanship, etc.)
With the possibilty of being able to change names, it seems like we're trying to make a giant toybox for griefers now instead of actually giving it some semplance of the RPG that Notch wanted. I'm not saying that we shouldn't add this, but that other, better ideas, should be worked on. Who would like to acutally be able to raise a mini Enderdragon from the egg you get from the Nether? How about some Nether ore?

Bugs I expect. I also expect fixes to snapshots containing game-breaking bugs. What I got instead of that was an unstable game-breaking snapshot that corrupted newly-created world save files at random. Do I expect a fix for that broken snapshot? At this point in time, I have no clue, except to say that I would expect a properly fixed snapshot instead of the 12w21b fix that continued to leave me with unplayable worlds.
Snapshots are all fine and dandy if they don't have game-breaking bugs, if they do have game-breaking bugs I would expect them to either release a fixed snapshot or tell us to roll back to a previous snapshot that isn't bugged and wait for next week's snapshot.
Please tell me that you are not just teasing, trip wires would be a great new addition. I would enjoy making a Indiana Jones style temple with them. :-) It would rock even more with Emerald ore in the ground below them. :-D
Cool wedding, congrats to the happy couple, may they enjoy a lifetime of happyness. :-)

A Minecraft wedding, that is awesome! I wish both of them long happy lives.
I am ninja'd far too often.
That's why it's called an experiment. At this point, it doesn't matter what it looks like.
Didn't Notch say he would implement some of the zipline mod in the future?
Anyway, it looks awesome.

When planting a claymore, you don't leave the claymore sitting in the path for all to see. Obviously, put the trigger behind a tree or something.
