Common rumble I am hearing: "Guess playing to the lowest common denominator and selling as many units as possible is more important than the community. We thought only big companies like EA did that sorta stuff"

"...Don't take yourself so seriously... No one else does..."
It downloads as a zip. Nothing i can do about that.
Control panel -> folder options. Make sure "hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked. Uncheck it if you have to, then click apply (you can undo this later so you don't see .xxx after every file name.)
Find your minecraft download and rename it to "minecraft.jar". Windows may say something about changing the extension being bad, but do it anyway.
I love the night vision potion. You can see everything even miles under water. Now we just need some fish for looking at. I wonder how we will be able to brew night vision potions in the future.
spider eyes with......... blaze powder?
by the way cool snapshot, interesting to see what mojang wants to do with this
aside from obviously expanding on villagers and zombies at the same time
If the villager turn in zombies-villagers, what explains the other zombies? Perhaps... all people was converted in zombies, maybe, we are in a zombie apocalypse.
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
Honestly? I'd like to see some of the long-term "planned" things being added in (Red Overworld dragons and a Sky Realm, anyone?). 1.2 and 1.3 were awesome updates, but where's all the awesome stuff they said they were gonna add a while ago? I can't really complain about anything in these updates, and I'm sure Vechs is extremely happy (as a fledgling mapmaker, I kind of am too), but I'd still like to see them add some of the things that were planned a while ago.
- Audio Loops
- Capture the Flag online game type
- More Animals (Would love to see fish)
- A legitimate way to get sponges (and a use for them)
- Spike Blocks (meh.. lava or cactus works)
- Red Dragon
I did notice that the sky realm thing was removed from this list, to some disappointment, but overall, this list actually seems to be getting longer for the most part. These updates are great, but I'd like to see some of the above things in an update sometime soon. :|
(This is my rant, reposted from Unsquarable's forums page on this subject )
I know I'm late to the party a bit, but I made a video demoing some of the key features of the update for those of you who don't wanna download it.
For those of you who already know everything about the update, you can skip to 11:00 to see my proof of concept for a capture the flag type game that you can easily implement into even vanilla servers using pretty much only the command and beacon blocks in their current state. I leaves some room for improvement though, although part of it is due to the fact that this is a very early snapshot.

Now Featuring Something Quest! Also, quite a few Minecraft Creations.
Updates are great, but I want bug fixes. No more dieing when portaling because the world won't load would be nice. And no animals escaping from fenced-in areas (I think this happens because entities load before blocks on map load, allowing them to wander a bit before fences are in place? Or possibly they get pushed through via some other reason?)
Depending on how you play, either of these bugs could potentially be gane-breakers for some players; especially, the first one.

This shoudl fix the problem.
Yes, but naturally spawning?
No, but in your original post you said that you can place them sideways, nothing about them spawning sideways.

Well, 12 pages of people do. And this is the "MINECRAFT" forums. Did you sign up on purpose?
