I'm pretty sure the "work in progress" block, as CaptainSparklez calls it, will require 5 glass and 4 diamonds to craft, diamonds on the corners, glass on the edges and middle. Seems like a legit recipe.

Minecraft Starts to get lame right now!! The updates are a bit TOO fast And The new with the new features Minecraft Looks like an RPG game NOT A SURVIVAL GAME ANYMORE NOTCH SHOULD STOP NOW... I'm so Disapointed!!!
I'm legitimately curious what you mean here, so if you see this, please feel free to elaborate. Regarding how fast updates come out, I don't see how that's any measure of how good or bad a game is. Snapshots come out all the time, and I for one felt like 1.3.1 took FOREVER to come out, and with the portal bug, I won't be playing it.
As for Minecraft being like an RPG? I don't get what you mean. There's no stat growth, no plot, or even required goals. Equipment has levels of strength based on what it's made out of, but that has been true for a very long time. You can still play with or without mobs. The experience meter seems RPG-ish, but it has no persistent effect on your character, and you can freely ignore enchanting with no real detriment to your play experience.
Some of the stuff being added is being done specifically with Adventure Mode in mind, and again, you can freely ignore that. Unless I see some great puzzles or fantastically built maps, I probably will ignore it, as fighting in Minecraft isn't done particularly well and is not compelling to me.
Survival (normal difficulty) is pretty much how it has always been.
In short, I don't understand what you're complaining about. At all.
The new surprise block is good for adventure maps. It also looks like you need to craft diamonds, so... *tmi*
I feel that if the new surprise block has a crafting recipe, we're overpowered... if we make a iron pyramid to activate it... which'll take a lifetime... *cough*
Wow, I just listened to an episode of The Shaft (Minecraft podcast), and they were talking about how there should be Zombies with armor, as well as baby Zombies with armor. Can't believe this is actually happening. Looking forward to this update.
Great, but I saw a skeleton in the air, in the riding position! MINECRAFT! Where I find bugs (and others), and post about them, in a, kinda, non-whiney way? Sometimes the bugs can make things look funny, sometimes make gameplay harder (zombies!!!). i think they should keep the zombies not burning in sunlight (and skeletons), into a new gamemode! If they do, they might have it under bugs with "zombies don't burn in sunlight because we have conflicting gamemodes because someone thought it'd be cool if they didn't burn. As well as skeletons..." except not as bad... and I want some of the gamerules explained. I also realised that the less posts you've made, the less likely someone will answer! I guess it's 1000 posts to get 100% chance of reply?

I found one in a newly grown (one minecraft night ago) large jungle tree with no chance that an actual villager was up there (unless it was a glitch).

Don't. Unpack. The. File.
Your operating system is being too helpful.
Save the file as "minecraft.jar"
Make sure windows didn't instead save it as "minecraft.jar.zip"
Put the file in your minecraft bin folder. You should make a backup of the minecraft.jar that is already there so you can go back if you want to.
