The update look good. Some thought about the update:
- I did not have any problem when cooking any kind of meat or charcoal;
- Maybe I'm wrong but sheep seem to spawn a lot more now, especially near a village;
- lighting from the torch look really nice;
- I seem to see a lot of enderman, I thought they were supposed to be rare.
Some new thing:
- The squid can finally swim in the water instead of "walking" on block;
- Its already said but there are bubble in the water now;
- Water in the ocean seem a lot deeper than before;
Is the "one stronghold per world" thing true/confirmed? If so Im rather dissapointed :\ the abandoned mineshafts are neat, though, and HUGE.. this one Ive been exploring goes on for miles, on multiple levels. I even found a normal (mossy cobble-type) dungeon attached to it my biggest problem is that im lost now >.>
You can eat by holding down the right click button
You can sprint by double-pressing and holding 'W' or whatever you have set for 'forward'
You can toggle flying by double-pressing the space bar
When you jump while sprinting you walk normally after you land
If you run into a block while sprinting you start walking normally again
When F3 is activated you can now see the seed number
The experience bar doesn't do anything at the moment(I don't think it does anyway)
I don't think any of the above are mentioned in the forums 1.8 pre-release news
Hope this helped
Well, I've been playing this for a few hours now, I must say, the biomes are HUGE. I've adventured around quite a lot, and I've really only found an ocean, a desert, and the massive beautiful swamp that I spawned in. The bow is absolutely wonderful, which makes skeles entirely too over powered, and they seem to walk to the left of me in a circle, witch makes them very difficult to defeat. The Endermen are very rare, as are the Silverfish, I have seen only one enderman, and no silverfish. <_< Passive mobs are a bit more rare, and violent mobs seem to swarm. I have yet to figure out all of the crafting recipes myself, and the new lighting engine is very smooth and reduced lag quite a bit, but is quite buggy with things such as chests, and mobs swimming. Cows and sheep also seem to like living on trees. The new vines are quite sexy as well. I am really looking forward to the legit release, so I don't have to deal with the lighting bugs, and smart skeles. Eating rotten meant doesn't seem to do any damage, but turns the hunger bar green and it runs down quicker. Beef is very easy to come by, and the eating animation is quite an advancement. Overall, this so called "LEAKED" version is a good demo of 1.8, quite buggy, but still a very nice and smooth version, it seems like a total new game, and a load of things to pile on the Minecraft community at once. I wouldn't mind it as a few other updates like carrying on the 1.7 version, But I don't really mind personally. It's very nice and I hope to see bukkit making a 1.8 build, and plugins updating so my server and the servers I belong to will be a whole lot better, especially considering the new combat options, and being able to save servers to a list, so I don't have to go re-writing IP's.
I was so very much hoping for those to be made official, such good ideas.
Hunger bar is helpful it restores ur health at the cost of hunger... but it reduces u to half a heart if its gets emtpy

That was a mouthful.
