You are stuck in a mine and are about to die. You are completely lost and have no way out. You have tons of diamonds and some awesome tools and and enderchest. You dump the stuff in and die. When you respawn, you will have access to it all. That's pretty cool.

I'm getting a weird bug (sorry if it's been mentioned before, but I'm not about to search through 25 pages of posts to find if I'm duping).
The world sometimes pauses, but it seems that only certain things will be paused.
Example #1, I just chopped down an entire tree, and didn't get any wood from it. I stepped back, and above a lake to my right, a squid was swimming about 5 m above the water. Suddenly, everything seemed to reset: the squid went back to the water, and the tree that I just chopped down popped right back where it was, forcing me to chop it down again.
Example #2, in the same world, I have a long minecart track using powered rails and sensor rails. When I use it, periodically, the cart will stop dead (as if the game has locked up), but I can still look around. The powered track is lit, so it is active, but the cart won't move. Sometimes, if I do nothing but look around, the cart will suddenly move at incredible speed, going dozens of meters in a second.
I need help playing this version of Minecraft! Right now my laptop has no internet to connect to and the best I can do is download the snapshot file to a flash drive and drag it over on my laptop. (I know I won't be able to get the full Minecraft update without an internet connection). Every time I drag the jar file over and start Minecraft it only shows the updating screen with the green bar almost loaded, and it never moves. If you could help me that would be great because I really would like to test out this snapshot.
i realised that u can see lava when u get trapped in a wall and jump(after it turns black). not sure if it applies to all blocks... was trapped in sandstone. and that tripwire thing...heard somewhere saying it can be placed in the air right? doesnt connect when placed in air and the next string is placed on a block. also doesnt connect to that tripwire hook like that. if u break the block below the string ( while placed on block) the string also breaks itself.
Someone should make a zombie apocalypse server with the new adventure mode, no one can place or break blocks, so the only person that could make changes to the map would be a Server Admin or GM... It would be perfect for a survival map, the villagers hide from zombies, and your goal would be to buy stuff from the admin to get upgrades built onto the town by saving up emeralds from doing other objectives... Just a good idea if anyone happens to do it, please message me

They could even build up a city or state and stuff for the players to fight off the zombies in and travel across, it would be a pretty awesome idea.

I guess a Cod nazi zombie in Minecraft would be nice .. just using a economie plugin
>Enchanting nerfed from 50 to 30
>Mining and smelting gives XP
nope.avi
And yes, my disappointment can only be expressed in imageboard format. The rest of the update is amazing, but with these two changes, enchanting will be boring now. No need to go out and kill mobs for levels and no high-level enchantments anyway.
Also, I hope Jungle Temples will look more interesting in the final release. Now they just look kind of boring, but that might just be me. I'm so used to cobblestone being the "ghetto" building material that you use when you don't have anything else that a temple made completely of the stuff just doesn't look appealing to me.
This may have been said already (I didn't read the whole thread) but Enchanting wasn't nerfed. The maximum enchantment level was lowered to 30, yes, but they also lowered the number of levels needed to get the best enchantments to 30. Honestly, I think it's great. I was tired of grinding mob farms for hours on end to get to level 50 so I could enchant a *single* item, only to have the enchantment turn out to be garbage.
Books requiring leather was a bit of a frustration, but they are alot more useful now. Just for the hell of it, I made a log of everything I learnt and come across *in that world* about mobs. Then I forgot not to open the world in 1.2.5 and lost it all :|

This Snapshot series is gonna be great in Minecraft 1.3 because of all the new things they're planning to implement into Minecraft. Tripwires, Emerald, villagers trading. ya know, wouldn't it be great if 1.3 was released on June 8th. (that's the end of the school year for me).
But yeah, still, I keep looking up towards the new update. Jeb has a brilliant mind!
3) I had several spontaneous zombie-invasions (like all the sudden a spawn of 10-15) in my very well lit village/ base.
If this is a bug, it's been around for some time. In my OceanBlock map (where the whole point is to make a big village in a pretty controlled environment) I had zombie attacks all the time and there were literally 0 places a hostile mob could spawn normally.
The stone, cobble and stone brick monster eggs are more commonly referred to as "Block 97", being a block with the block ID 97. When destroyed, a silverfish will come out of the block.

And they also changed the xp system to be linear now. That means you need the same amount of xp to gain any level whether it's 1 or 30!
I'm having trouble playing the new snapshot. My laptop cannot connect to the internet to download it but I can download the file to a flash drive. Only problem is when I delete the old jar file and drag the new one over it shows the "updating" screen when I click Minecraft and click play offline. The green bar is close to fully loaded but never moves.
Please tell me how I can fix this so I can play Minecraft in my spare time.
The game would be better if it wasn't so easy to get an OP enchant, so they should bring it back to 50. Then there would be a challenge.

It's very peculiar.

I wasn't saying it was a bug. I was saying (poorly) that it probably wasn't.

Anyone know what the new recipe is?
