They really aren't. First of all, You can't zip up your Xbox MC and put it on a flash drive and play it at school. Second, You can't Mod Xbox MC, and even if you could it would be hard to try and map Mod functions to a controller, which would greatly reduce the amount of mods that are able to be used.Thirdly, Noone cares about Xbox, and i mean that in regards to Minecraft. Noone is going to develop mods for Xbox, create tutorials on Xbox, or create texturepacks for Xbox. Fourthly, and i am a bit fuzzy on this, i don't think you can share saves, which is a personal favorite of mine (And is why they put in adventure mode). Fifithly, You won't be able to render near as much as i will be able to on my Desktop(Xbox 360 only has a GPU Clocking at 500mhz), or be able to process things as quickly(Xbox has Triple core, 3.2GHZ W/ DDR3 512 MB of RAM) Which is the main reason that it was developed for Desktop, not Gameboy, Nintendo DS, Xbox, Playstation, or Sony omega atari 3 orion or whatever its is old people are always talking about. It's just now coming out for android, and only really the Higher end devices can really play it effectivly, and even then it's pretty.. "light"
So you tell us what minecraft is.
There's a reason they updated it, and it wasn't so later on you could have feelings of nostalgia. And actually, it does. I just listed up there why. I'm unclear as to how you can report the statistics of people have bought minecraft for PC, and then again bought it for XBOX, but okay. Maybe your right.
I like the Xbox 360 version and I do not have the PC version but I do know that it is really easy to jump into a friends game. You are right you can't take your Xbox 360 file and play it at school, but that doesn't matter for 3 reasons.
#1 They don't have Xbox 360s at school.
#2 When the h*ll would you find enough time to get anything done even if you were on PC?
#3 YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO PLAY AT SCHOOL!!!!! YOU ARE THERE TO LEARN. AND DON'T TELL ME YOU DO IT IN STUDY HALL BECAUSE IF YOU GOT YOUR HOMEWORK DONE THERE YOU COULD HAVE MORE TIME TO PLAY AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now on to the next order of buisness...
The fact that it is more difficult to mod Xbox could very well mean a reduction of annoying mods developed to give certain players an upperhand. Also you said "no one cares about minecraft for xbox". If someone really wanted to take the effort into making a mod for xbox they could do it. I also want to point out that because xbox is behind PC people don't feel the same way about it. When the 2 are head to head Xbox will probably end up being better because of the well designed crafting interface, neat control scheme, and universal operating system which will be the xbox 360. If you don't understand how a universal operating system would be useful then I will explain. A universal operating system means that everything would be the same. If you have a crappy old computer it might not be able to support the memory of a server provided by higher grade computers. All Xboxs are virtually the same and are good which means you don't have to worry about different systems not being at par with each other.
Not only is there a way to share saves but you can have a friend join at any time in a game if you have gold and it is open or you invite. We don't need to share saves because it is easier to just have them join the game. And I mean SUPER EASY.
Now I don't know anything about your computer nor do I know a lot about the internal stuff of the xbox. I am also unclear what you mean you can "render" more things on your PC. So I don't have a response to that.
But seriously why are you playing Minecraft at school?
Xbox minecraft players don't even now the real minecraft; Pc version, yet they think they do
if thats true, then why are you in the minecraft xbox 360 forum and you ever think that we dont care what the real minecraft is as long as we have a minecraft.

he skips school and plays in the bathroom all day with an outlet nearby lol
*sigh* I don't understand Minecraft players. On PC they whine and complain that the new features are 'ruining' the game. Now on the Xbox version they whine and complain that the new features are missing! Once it gets up to date with PC, they'll start whining and complaining that they brought in the new features! WHAT DO YOU WANT PEOPLE!!!

A shining example of why you need to beat your children.

I'm pretty sure over half the people on Xbox that have, also have the PC version. That's how they found out about it.
Blame Microsoft for having to pay for skins.
