Now, if only all the hoards of mods will adapt to this update, I will be locked in a sphere of eternal happiness!!
If 1.4 is anywhere NEAR as stunning as 1.3... I can't even imagine what they'll have to implement!!!!!!

Updates fairly good, but once I died and respawned, but i fell through the world and died... again. Once i had it happen twice in a row... I did to the stupidest thing though... I play on two computers, and I transfer my save files from one to the other. On the computer I first installed 1.3.1 on, the save files were about a week old. However, I was so excited, I wrote 30+ pages in a book... XD Now I have to update that save file and lose my masterpiece...
Lemme settle this now. To all the people complaining about buginess etc.:
WHAT THE HECK DID YOU EXPECT?!?!? This is the single largest update ever to grace Minecraft, with complete re-works of Client-side mechanics and re-written AIs, rendering, everything! You honestly think there won't be bugs? There are ALWAYS bugs, bugs are a fact of life that we just have to live with. If you can't handle bugginess within 2 hours of a megahuge update, YOU ARE PLAYING THE WRONG GAME!!!
And to the people complaining about performance drops:
If your computer can't handle 2 GB of RAM (It was 1 GB right up to this release; I'm not sure what the current is, but if it's over 2 GB I'm a monkey's daughter) then you really need a new computer. I can relate, I have a collection of "junker" computers with about 700 Megs, but even now everything works just fine! Honestly, stop complaining, Mojang is doing the best they can and if that's not good enough go play some 10 year old Text-based adventure or something.

wow the game is more laggy than ever, first logging in is all messed up, second the game froze on me (with no mobs around me) i had to restart my computer, and come back and it says i died thats not all, i was at level 3 so i should have at least gotten a score, wasnt using cheats either, it said my score was 0...AND i cant even change my skin, 1.3 so far has been a disappointment, i hope this gets fixed...
I think barely anyone should be complaining about performance. My computer is 8 years old, has 512MB of RAM, a single-core processor, and an integrated graphics chip. It's crap, and I want to get something better. Even though it's not nearly as good as most everything else, I still manage to get a solid 12 FPS with Fancy/Far, in a newly generated world with chunks being loaded. 1.3.1 performs better than the older versions, hands down.
Well, bugs were bound to happen, especially with an update like this. So much new stuff added, servers being integrated into singleplayer, just about everything, which is why I never updated. But anyway, they should be fixed soon, lets just hope _Jeb can fix bugs as fast as he can come up with new ideas
Yeah I get that the bugs are gonna happen. But that's not gonna replace my lost items. I guess I'll use the cheats they just added when it starts working
Apparently people have not read that single and multiplayer coding was merged together so all bugs can be squashed instead of having to make two different fixes for two different game modes.
i was playing on my hardcoremode world and i was going back throw my portal and some how i ended up in this dark place and i started to die so i lost every thing and the world
That's called the void. It seems to be some sort of bug with hardcore and the nether. Oh well. That is really why you shouldn't put that much time and effort into a hardcore world, just one mistake and it is all gone.

I think Mojang needs to put off the mod API until 1.5, put a moratorium on ALL new features and concentrate on nothing but bug fixes for 1.4. Fix the lag, fix the chunk errors and fix the lighting. While you're at it, just make boats unbreakable already. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay to have them break apart like that. And enough with the floating landscape. I'd like my Extreme Hills to stop looking like a griefed map (or like something a noob would build).
Don't get me wrong, I definitely got my $30 worth for this game, but I'd gladly pay another $30 or more to get these age-old bugs fixed. Mojang needs to acknowledge that they have a serious QA problem.
As for the client-server thing, I understand their reasons for doing it, but it shows a lack of sophistication among their development staff. They could have easily merged the client-server code, without having to run the game in client-server mode. All you need is a simple interface to abstract out the server connection. Any Java programmer worth a paycheck, should be doing this out of habit.
Mojang has created one of the greatest games of all time. Now they just need to hire a few professionals to finish it.
attention: there is 2 big glitches not mentioned. English (UK and US) does not show up correctly, and MC Patcher doesn't work
MCpatcher, a third-party modification, not working is a glitch on Minecraft's part? NO. If you have to whine, then go whine in MCpatcher's thread about it. Also, please don't use such big text, it makes it kind of hard to read.
it sucks. the mods have to update and u have to re-install the mods on your computer
You may as well never update then, that is always the case. Don't blame Mojang for it, they didn't program the game intending it to be modable. Why do you think the code is obfuscated? If you really hate updating mods that much, just wait for the mod api, it will all change then.
singleplayer now has the problem i hate about multiplayer: biome borders. Example: you are in a swamp biome then you see a huge wall of dirt and stone because of a nearby extreme hills biome.

That doesn't mean the whole damn update is bad, pretty much the whole update consisted of things that improved minecraft, mcpatcher works, mods are beginning to be updated, be paitent or just simply stop playing.

Let us pray. Bless us, O Notch, and these, thy Updates, which we are about to receive for thy Game. Through Jeb, our Dev. Amen.
