They did a 1.3 "pre-release" so that "modders would be ready for the full release in the conversion of their mods"...

Then they pull an a-hole move and release it as "1.3.1" effectively making the time the modders invested in "getting their mods ready for 1.3" a complete waste...

Say, what do you mean by "upcoming Mod API"? Isn't 1.3 the update where the Mod API is live?

Also, so far, I'm getting a better experience than 1.3 pre-release (SSP), but unfortunately the lighting glitches are still too annoyingly frequent (although less frequent than in pre-release). I'm not getting performance issues, but a few glitches from the old SMP are now on SSP, too (namely, missing chunks).

But the new features are great, and I'm loving the trade options with the testificates. Now I can play different ways, like in one game I may be an adventurer, and in another one I can be a farmer, tending to livestock and trading for valuables.

All in all, an awesome update.

PS: I have yet to try the Nether to check for performance issues.

SO, I update my game, and here's what comes up.

Most it's gotten to is 12% and it just outright stops.

How to Upgrade to 1.3 and keep 1.2.5 for multiplayer servers. This is a very helpful video.

Laaaag!!!! Went from over 80 fps in 1.2.5 to 20 fps or lower in 1.3. Come on Mojang did you not intisapate this happening to people. I will stick with 1.2.5 for now. Also whats up with the 70% bug fixes. There are more bugs in 1.3 then there were to fix in 1.2.5. Time to take action and get the people who payed money out of there pockets for this game some relife. I have loved everything you have done so far...lets not dissapoint now please.

Yeah but im running on over 8 gig of ram and play on many diffrent servers. There is no reason for this lag. They need to fix whatever it is they destroyed with the frame rate.

edit: PLEASE cap the FPS at the main menu. No reason why it should be anywhere above 35. It's burning at 100+, removed the cap and blew it up to 400. You'd burn your GPU if you leave the computer running at that.

I can normaly play vinilla with 60-80 fps. Just revert back to 1.2.5 untill they get on to this issue. Wich I think should be at the top of the list considering a great majority of the Minecraft community are having this same issue. I already see 9 Yahoo answers links in google about this lag.

Whats so wrong with pushing players? My GF and I have been testing it out and we can walk right through each other... not very realistic. Also don't like walking through animals either.

Without a doubt, an amazing update. Whenever I play Minecraft now, it's like I'm playing the Yogbox (sort of...). The only thing I would've added to complete the update would be the upcoming music C418 is making. Nothing like chilling in my Ender Castle with the new Ender Chest and End music! Oh, and Red Dragons + Lairs. Those two things would've REALLY completed the update.

I get Internal Server Error. Thank you Mojang for adding **** that benefits little 9 year olds that don't know how to start a server.

Someone please help me. I have a world that i have had for a long time. I went and downloaded 1.3 today but i noticed that i cant put cheats on for the world. Is it possible for me to put the cheats on for a world that i already had?

1.3.1 was a bit disappointing. Big difference in FPS... I don't really see any bugs but the ones I see are too annoying. I'm not playing minecraft until they fix FPS or when Optifine comes out.
