I've played since Beta 1.4, and I can say that this is the best update I've experienced.
I think the 1.8 update with the new hunger and combat mechanics was my favorate, although it was also my least favorate because of the new beach generator, and don't even mention beach biomes, the things glitch the hell out when they come into contact with a cliff...
i have a question, i havent updated to to 1.3.1, i wait until the mods i use are updated to update my minecraft so i can do it all at once. im trying to get the train mod to work but when i load it in i only get half the trains and cars your suppose to get, whats the problem?
Love the new features, but this update has been rushed, and it shows. And yes, I get the logic behind the SMP/SSP merge. Staying in 1.2.5 until a proper update.
"The block-breaking animation is now shown while the GUI is hidden."
What does this mean
It means that if someone else is breaking a block *or you* you will see the animation of them breaking it, or they will see you breaking a block. To help with mining the same block.
I can't believe you guys like the fact that single player is now MULTIPLAYER!! Thats so dumb. This is what I think! EVEN BUZZ AND WOODY HATE IT!!
Yeah I like the tripwires and books and quills but everything else SUCKS!
Yes, I think so too, there are multiple reasons 1.3.1 sucks, I broke my DNS Better than Technic modpack for this horrible update and now I'm not gonna play minecraft for a while.
1.2.5 ran perfectly fine, even on old useless computers. 1.3.1 is just terrible on the performance side.
At least i'd expect them to update the minimum requirement specs for minecraft since the old ones are VERY outdated with 1.3.1. Single core computers can't handle running a server and playing the game. It just isn't possible.
hey if you have a problem with it get a down grade

When will it stop saying "Internal Server Error" every 5-10 minutes and then when I try to go back in-game it crashes completely? (I have a good enough PC to run Minecraft and I don't even have it open to LAN) Any help would be apperciated.

Maybe you should have waited until the mods updated.
The reason for the merge is, that they make it easy for them. Every professional programmer know how to solve the mentioned problems about implementing API without to combine multiplayer and single player. Also there is a possibility to write one source code for two modes, so you can fix bugs at one stroke.
As I mentioned some time before:

Um, yes exactly! Why wouldn't they make it easier? Did you expect them to do it the long hard way?!

As for Magnamious,
Mine doesn't crash at all. But I guess it depends on what kind of machine you're using.
Strongly decreased the amount of Experience you get from furnaces
I know I'm new to the game, having started only about 6 weeks ago (v. 1.25) but I've NEVER gotten experience from furnaces. I also see I now get experience for mining ore and coal. That's new to me too! Was I missing out all this time?
Bug with food. If I have a stack of food, and I eat only one, the game will glitch and eat a second one, which sucks if I'm holding cooked pork and I only need to refill one hunger bar.
Also, I don't know if it was intended, but my hunger bar drains in easy as fast as it would in hard. Is hunger drain speed universal now?

In the snapshots you used to get a large amount of experience from furnaces, which wasnt available in 1.2.5. They just reduced it down in 1.3.1

I wish Minecraft would make Herobrine for a day in Halloween, that would be EPIC!!!
About the update:
Love the update Jeb!
P.S.I suggest coloured lights for the next update made the same way with coloured wools just with glowstone or something, that would be awesome!

I don't.
Hopefully this'll get the merge haters to shut up.

Theres over 250 things added in 1.3.1.
You can see the whole list here: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Version_history#1.3.1
