This is a conspiracy! Does anyone remember when there was a contest for who could make Minecraft work on the Kinect? Well I bet Notch messaged citricsquid and told him to make the contest. That was when notch started working on the Xbox version and the updates became shitty, rushed, and buggy.
Putting this on Xbox we are guaranteed to have guns "UMG HOW CUM DURS GUNS ON CALL OF DOODY BUT NOT ON MINECRAFT NOTCH WHYYY!?!?!?!" This will truly suck. The poster in earlier pages saying that Notch is doing this because he isn't gaining as much money on the PC version is correct.
OK, well this could be pretty good for people that have sucky computers but, he should atleast add it to the PS3 and maybe the Wii. If only the X-Box gets it he might make some people mad.
I hope this isn't a cast of Microsoft throwing a lot of cash your way in order for you to take your popular game and port it to their unpopular platform. If it works out, good for you and good for microsoft. If it doesn't work out then it sucks to be you since you now have to also support a dud platform, and microsoft will find another project to throw cash at instead.
Anyway, I tossed my XBOX360 years ago (first I ditched the PS3, what a great descision!) when I realised how much more efficient my PC was at doing the same stuff. Better power comsumption, better value for software, better value of service and upgrade. XBOX360 was a dead platform back then.
Anyway, I can't see how Kinect will work for Minecraft. I can see that the two can be connected together but I can't see it being a happy marriage. It's just like MS to say "Ooh ooh, we've got a new tech, stick it in that, sure it will work", without understanding the reason the underlying technology works and when it doesn't.

Well, I do have an xbox, and my computers framerate does suck ****. I dont know what to think. If I hear it's good, I may buy it, and I sure seem to be using italics a lot
This makes me laugh. Xbox users won't be able to use texture packs, mods, AND they have to pay for the use of their own internet. Sucks for them. I also can't wait for the obsessed CPD players that rage on the graphics. One thing concerns me though. Does anyone recall what Xbox does to gain popularity with any game? The day Notch accepts payment to make updates for Xbox before PC is the day I play Fortresscraft.
Why no PS3? They got their little version of Minecraft already. Let them enjoy that and give us PS3 boys and girls the real deal. It would of been be nice to have another real good Play-Create-Share type game on the PS3. (Little Big Planet and it's sequel are pretty good, but more Minecraft would be better.)

Most of them got their 360's as gifts for birthdays and x-mas. Also yea the xbox is cheaper, not everyone can shell out the few extra hundred dollars for the pc/laptop. Espically when they have to work for it all on their own and have other things they need to pay for.
I play on a pc, and it is not cheap to stay up with the current times. I play on the 360 more because of it. That being said I love the PC more for gaming because of the mods, but when it comes down to afford-ability the consoles win.
Also @comet1 you are way out of line with the stereotyping, honestly I think you need to step back and think about what you are saying. You are acting way to immature, even though you claim to be a "creative, more mature pc player". In my opinion a true gamer can appreciate all the consoles and respect the people who play them.
I am just saying that percent wise much more X-box gamers will troll MInecraft because they are not used to the Indie game style and will not apprecaite Minecraft and its true creative beuty they will login and say

it is just Pc gamers are generally more mature then console gamers there are still inmature Pc gamers and mature console gamers

The real issue at hand here is that because Mojang decided to announce it in this way, they stand to possibly fracture the community in multiple ways via fanboyism and overzealous keyboard warriors. I think this would have been much less of an issue if they'd had just said, "We are beginning development on console versions." and not named one in particular.
I've noticed a trend of 3 separate sets of negative arguments against this, spawning from just this one subject. 1. Some are upset that it was announced for one particular console and support for it's peripheral and not it's competitors.
2. Some are upset that console ports were announced this early into the development cycle.
and
3. Some are upset that funding priority isn't focused on finishing the product itself and is instead spread out.
That's not to say this is bad news, but I do believe it was executed poorly, at least for this week in particular.
I couldn't care less if Notch put it on Xbox...if the game was actually finished. Microsoft probably just noticed the popularity of Minecraft and their eyes turned into dollar signs. Even if a separate team is working on the port, all this shows is that Notch is a sellout. So much for being a "indie" developer. Notch probably just got lucky with Minecraft if he's making these poor business decisions.
I'm a PC and an xbox gamer, this is the best news i have got this year. I love the idea of a console version of Minecraft.

Why is everyone freaking out about this? So what if Notch wants to make a little money, and Minecraft on the 360 sounds great! I'm pretty sure that if Microsoft walked up to you and said,"Can I have that? I'll give you millions of dollars for it." Then you'd be like "**** YEAH!!!" and take the money.
