Funny, one of my friends owns a server, and he's a Halo fanboy, but personally, I prefer his server. When I told him MineCraft was also moving to Kinect, he hated the idea. Even he thinks Microsoft destroys everything. You see? Even the Halo fans are worried.

I can play all the Minecraft I want at home, a portable version would have advantages. It's not a choice between one or the other, like some people seem to be making it out to be.

I hate the whiny folk who think that minecraft coming to xbox is terrible. You think it is terrible, yet so goddamn successful on the other end. Stop whining about how "Console ****s" are somehow lesser compared to "PC Overlords" . Everyone has different opinions. I play xbox and ps3 but I like to kick back with some minecraft. Wow. I like how u guys are fighting about ps3 and xbox 360 people coming to minecraft. But whats funny is, people dont realize that this is a big move for minecraft. and also I play alot of xbox and look at me. I dont complain about graphics and stuff like that. What I care about is gameplay and how fun the game is. So maybe their will be xbox and ps3 people will come here but minecraft + xbox/kinect= more money = more content for minecraft. So I think this a great thing for minecraft. So Notch, great job.

All this is doing is giving a broader spectrum of people a chance to play Minecraft (Ex- people who own crappy computers but have an Xbox.)
This is NOT going to hurt the development of PC Minecraft, Notch even said he had other people working on this while he continued work on the PC updates.
If all goes successful, a new section of forums will probably be made to accomodate the "console ****s".
So stop flooding this board with your hate for console systems. I am pretty sure their are other forums out there for that kind of crap.

I have an xbox, i dont know if this is exactly the best thing for minecraft. The versatility, multiplayer, and customisation of mc just cant be recreated on a console. This should stay pc. And kinect? that will be unbearable.
Although it may be nice, being able to use far render distance and fancy graphics, my computer is garbage.
Wow I'm surprised at the negative reaction to such a positive advancement for Minecraft/Notch. New players for this game, even if it is on a console, means more opinions, more improvements, more resources and ultimately a better experience for all players.
It's strange how the moment an indie game might be ported or become popular in the mainstream, all the hipsters and close-minded gamers come out of the woodwork to complain. I can only imagine what will happen when MC comes out of beta; what obscure game will they transition to then?
So I applaud this breakthrough. Congrats, Minecraft, I look forward to the advances in gameplay.
