fear1, crysis, battlefield 2, Dragon age 2, Fallout 3.
All of these are better on PC (with the exception of Dragon Age 2, which IMO sucked on all platforms, but was at least slightly less horrible on PC), so I don't really see what your gripe is here. Need for Speed started out on 3DO (a console) and was ported to PC, so again, not sure what you're talking about. I think Call of Duty blows regardless of what it's being played on (and I own an Xbox - OH ****, SHATTERING STEREOTYPES EVERYWHERE). You're insisting on panicking like the sky is falling when there's absolutely no reason to do so beyond creating drama. Much like every other console port of a PC original, XBLA Minecraft will most likely not be as good (just seems better suited to a mouse and keyboard, plus PC users can enjoy mods), but it's existence isn't an affront to PC gamers everywhere, nor is it a reason to belittle people that could end up being respected members of the community before they even get here simply because they might not have a better option than playing it on an Xbox.
"They shouldn't get it because it's ours and it will ruin everything" makes you (not you specifically, just in general) sound like a ****ing spoiled brat and is utterly infantile.
And I have a Xbox, I just think Minecraft is better played as a PC game. It is like playing those strategy games like civilization or age of empires on a console, it seems unnatural.

calling poeple "****ing spoiled brat" and "utterly infantile" isn't belittling? i know you didn't mean it towards me, but thanks for adding it anyways lol. It's just ironic, i know you have read a lot of petty comments from obvious PC gamers but calling them that won't make them want to listen to you.
a lot of times(not always) when things become too successful they expand and become watered down and streamlined for mass appeal. that is what everyone is afraid of, are they allowed to be cautious/suspicious about something that sounds bad?

If they had a reason to feel that way, sure. Like, had the announcement been "Mojang was purchased by Microsoft and is focusing development on XBLA", you'd have plenty of reason to be suspicious. But what they actually announced is that PC is still the primary focus (main dev team is working on it, it's coming out first, etc) and people are STILL bitching about it. And only half of the complaints are even about that - the rest range from "Notch is a traitor" to "Minecraft was the last bastion of PC gaming in the universe and now my life is ruined."
Basically, a metric ****ton of paranoid conjecture and stereotyping based on a thimbleful of actual information beyond "PC is still the lead platform."
I don't apologize for saying some of the folks here sound like brats and/or are infantile, either. Tough love, man.
This is a great Idea. Loving it; my computer sucks at handling minecraft so this makes me very glad to see it move to a console and I will probably immediately buy it.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
There's a difference between "This game sucks" and "I don't like this game."

I'm in the same boat. My laptop handles it quite well as long as the rendering distance is kept at medium. Anything higher than that, though, and it starts to chug pretty bad. Same goes when my building projects get a little too ambitious. I'll be getting the XBLA version just to check it out all "turned up" (and out of curiosity to see how a console setup handles it).
Hey, I play Xbox, and I'm as frustrated with both groups of little kids on a daily basis (I'm a hardcore gamer). Just merging the two groups will just alleviate stress on my friends and me. Also, I always wondered what could be done with a controller in place of a keyboard. The game itself is probably going to be good, play like the same things, and The more mature community will understand this is a problem we can cope with. Notch, if you read this, listen up. Make a separate forum section for the xbox children. On a side note, this game will promote the gaming masses to actually buy the pc version... so it wont be that bad, just saying.
You people against this are elitist morons. Everyone deserves a chance to play Minecraft on whatever system they have if they can get it. Lighten up.
I agree, but the burden should be on Microsoft to open up the Xbox and let it run a JVM so that Minecraft can run on it. It isn't Mojang's fault that plain vanilla minecraft.jar won't run on the Xbox.
You guys should be happy is coming to xbox, more money more updates and it will make minecraft go further, all you whiners need to calm your ass down, is going to happen no matter what.
the reasons the PC community is freaking out is because its very common for PC games to be ruined when they go from being just PC games to mulitplayform. and even though "we" know there is a separate team working on it and it's very paranoid, look all the games that where PC games then went to consoles and pretty much became just consoles games and PC ports. fear1, crysis, battlefield 2, cod, Rainbow Six, Need for Speed, Dragon age 2, Fallout 3.
there are many examples about PC games being ruined when they expand to consoles, that is what everyone doesn't like about this.
flame suit on
So give us some examples....everyone keeps talking about 'em, but nobody seems to ever name them.
The last example of a PC game being ported to XBLA that I can think of is Torchlight, and it works just fine on the 360 (I know, I have both versions).
Well, that's a shame. The communities going to go from human and polite to a massive wad of douche bags that can't control themselves. It was nice while it lasted, though.
I've seen more snidefull attitudes and hate on these minecraft forums than on any other game fourm I've ever visited... so I dont think anybody here has to worry about the xbox community lol.
Gamers are gamers weather on the pc , ps3 , xbox360... we all love having fun and playing GOOD games.
Rampant terms thrown about twards new gamers wanting to experiance minecraft :
COD IDIOTS
console Faggots
Morons for playing on Consoles
Yeah.... some community
Really something to be proud of
I have a pretty good ecclectic group of friends on xbox live , all of whom have more commen decency than what has been displayed on these forums.
So If this is the Minecraft community, dont worry.... you can keep it.

Good news! You can still play it on PC.

Yep, another game that's not even out yet. Guess you got the super secret advance copy.
