umm whats so bad of it going to xbox??!!! that makes more people hear of it and make it more popular. and i have to say Shin.... did u take ur chill pill this morning....
The reason i dont like it is because its for kinect, it would be fine if it was just for the 360, but kinect? no way.
- Xbox kids will ruin the forums because they're all illiterate Call of Duty fans. This is usually said in language that is rife with misspellings, typos, and poor sentence structure. The irony is not lost on some of us.
- They think Notch will be focusing all his energies on the Xbox version, despite the port being developed by a different team and not coming out until the PC version is finished. But knowing these things requires a bit of research and not simply making up what you think is going to happen. Apparently the PC elite finds this difficult.
- They're of the belief that the game should be PC-exclusive because "IT'S ALL WE HAVE!!!!!!!"
Like the game being ported to another platform somehow diminishes how fun their preferred version is. I'm pretty sure I observed this same illogical kind of selfishness the last time I visited my stepdaughter's elementary school to pick her up.
I'm sure there's more, but I start bleeding from the ears after prolonged exposure to this level of hypocritical stupidity.
I couldnt agree more, my problem is because its for kinect, the worst add on to a console ever...

I also see a lot of ignorance about what Kinect is.
It's not just about gesturing. It's also a 3D camera. This means it could allow you to scan in 3D objects to include into your world. We saw a demo at the key note speech of scanning in 3D items (they used a teddy bear).

Not only do you not understand Kinect, as the previous poster said, but you failed to read what's probably 20 posts about this, including one that's on this page. But, since you're too lazy, I'll just post it for the third time.
I myself am a Xbox player and love the game Minecraft. I have played the Kinect before and seen it's features. It would be nice to see Minecraft expand on other consoles such as the Xbox Kinect as it will increase it's revenue and allow more better gameplay. But for this to happen is not all good for several reasons.
1. The gameplay for Kinect would be too complex. Sure it would start off easy but eventually with advance gameplay and different situations it would be increasingly difficult to play.
2. The marketing of this product would be hard due to the fact that it will not appeal to a large group. This group would be located in with the family section but due to that it would appeal to a much younger group of gamers that would eventually not understand certain concepts of the game.
3. The theme would be seen as a fun little building game to most of society but will not actually see the potential Minecraft actually has to offer.
4. Retaining the game's graphics is a key subject but not many appreciate Pixelated games.
5. There is also the issue of updating the game itself as the game gets many new updates. The game could go through an update through Xbox Live but it would be frusterating and annoying having constant updates. Also if one doesn't have Xbox Live the game could not be updated for the new features.
Just these reasons alone is why the arrival of Minecraft to Xbox Kinect may not work out to all it is intended to. Forums will not be ruined by "Xbox Kids" as we have a great Moderating staff and community that would easily get rid of any problems. Have a nice day :3
1. The gameplay for Kinect would be too complex. Sure it would start off easy but eventually with advance gameplay and different situations it would be increasingly difficult to play.
Starting off easy and then becoming advanced is the description of every video game ever. Saying that it's harder to move than use a controller is akin to saying that it's harder to flick a light switch than creating a nuclear bomb.
2. The marketing of this product would be hard due to the fact that it will not appeal to a large group. This group would be located in with the family section but due to that it would appeal to a much younger group of gamers that would eventually not understand certain concepts of the game.

These are all basically the same thing. "Only young kids will get it and they won't understand it because they'll only build." This, of course, is preposterous because Minecraft for Xbox was one of Microsoft's main pitches at E3. Everybody knows what Minecraft is.
5. There is also the issue of updating the game itself as the game gets many new updates. The game could go through an update through Xbox Live but it would be frusterating and annoying having constant updates. Also if one doesn't have Xbox Live the game could not be updated for the new features.
Updates are hardly constant. How fast does it take to apply updates to your PC version? Not long. It will be the same speed for Minecraft on Xbox. (About 5 seconds) Also, I don't think you understand how Xbox Live works. There are two kinds: Xbox Live Silver and Gold. Silver lets you download games and cosmetic addons. It also lets you apply updates to arcade games. Gold lets you play multiplayer games and join parties. If you're referring to not having even Silver, then they wouldn't be able to get Minecraft in the first place.
I swear pc players are more clever than xbox players because we know how to have mods and stuff but all the xbox players will be getting jealous because they can't do any of our cool mods.
You don't need to be clever to add mods. It's literally copy and pasting.
Another thing, why get mad when it will only affect the computer version for the better.Notch(the genius) decided(in my perpesctive)that we need more money for more updates. they also decided well to make everyone go crazy and excited, put minecraft on the most realistic thing possible to make quick cash for a small time for updates.if this go on however, we can get money to update quicker and better. Then we can expand it ps3. but i say: Do not let nintendo touch minecraft.PLEASE
#1. There is a whole different development team working on Minecraft for Xbox, so Notch is still going to update Regularly
#2. Microsoft is only gonna work with the Xbox version of Minecraft, and have no say in anything PC Related
#3. Some people don't have a good computer to play Minecraft on (My Comps Lag or Skip Frames, One or the Other, Never Both) Making it acessible to an easy to use console, is making it more accessable to other people, letting other people have fun
#4. There is going to be a New Xbox Section on this forum, when the game comes out, so (Hopefully) that will down the spam abit
(Except get ready for more CoD threads in the Off Topic Section....And In The Suggestion Section....Get Ready for a Flame War in the Suggestion Section)
Wow. Look at all the PC Elitists acting like it is THE rapture. Seriously, guys? It's a port. This is a good thing, if the company has more money for resources, it means you'll be getting more updates. If anything gets left in the dust it'll be the XBLA version. Remember, TF2 on orange box? Valve never patches that ****, yet they patched the PC version all the time (Until the day TF2 died).
Quit whining, not everyone can afford a god-like computer that's $2000 and will obsolete in 6 months. This is a good thing. The CoD gamers will stick to CoD because if they're seen playing anything else their high-school reputation might be ruined. (onoes)
BTW, try being open minded like normal people. I promise you that at least half the community of this game plays games on all platforms. Just because you pick up a console controller does not make you an idiot. Can you honestly say you've never played Zelda, Mario 64 or Goldeneye?

1. Since nobody actually knows how it's going to play, it seems a little silly that you're already deeming it "too complex".
2, 3. Fortresscraft, which is a horrid indie ripoff of Minecraft available via LIVE, is the fastest-selling indie game on the service ever, because it's the closest Xbox users get to playing the game that inspired it. I think you're seriously underestimating how well-known Minecraft is. This isn't some niche underground game, it's regularly covered in all manner of gaming media and has generated incredible word-of-mouth publicity. People "get it".
4. Have you ever looked at the LIVE marketplace? I know you guys have this idea in your head that Xbox owners are all Neanderthal graphics whores, but a large contingent are gamers like myself that are in their 30s and grew up playing "pixelated games". Part of Minecraft's appeal is that it looks like you're wandering around a 3D representation of an NES game. Mega Man 9 sold extremely well, as did Super Meat Boy (which is one of the highest-rated games available). It's not going to be the big deal you think it is.
5. You may be an Xbox player, but you sure don't know very much about it. Microsoft's approval process for updates is a pain in the ass (which is why PC gamers tend to get the updates and patches first), but it's hardly the hassle you're making it seem to download them. Turn on console, boot up game, wait 30 seconds while it applies the update, play. Really no different from the Minecraft launcher, in fact. Also, if you don't have LIVE, you can't acquire the game to begin with, so it's a moot point. You only need Silver (which is free) to download and update games.
the reasons the PC community is freaking out is because its very common for PC games to be ruined when they go from being just PC games to mulitplayform. and even though "we" know there is a separate team working on it and it's very paranoid, look all the games that where PC games then went to consoles and pretty much became just consoles games and PC ports. fear1, crysis, battlefield 2, cod, Rainbow Six, Need for Speed, Dragon age 2, Fallout 3.
there are many examples about PC games being ruined when they expand to consoles, that is what everyone doesn't like about this.
I think Minecraft was designed to be a PC game. It will be difficult to Microsoft adapt the game in a way that the gameplay experience remains at the same level of the PC version. And with Kinect, the gameplay will turn out to be more physical and exhausting. People who never heard of Minecraft will think it is a casual and family game.
And I have a Xbox, I just think Minecraft is better played as a PC game. It is like playing those strategy games like civilization or age of empires on a console, it seems unnatural.

I think this is what they mean by Kinect enabled.

PC Minecraft turned out fine. Apparently not that many people have this problem you mention.

Curse PremiumSeriously, just read. Try it. I'll give you a hint. It's at the top of this page.

Because dragging class files into the jar is so clever. agree with guy I quoted.
