It's Kinect-enabled for a reason. Even that said, navigating a menu with a control stick isn't terribly hard or time consuming. Frankly I fail to see why console gamers shouldn't have access to a Minecraft game solely on the basis of minor inconvenience, as if the entire FPS genre hasn't already worked well enough to still be playable on it.
I agree...The Kinect is a 3D camera. At the keynote they were demonstrating how you will be able to scan in 3D objects and textures. Maybe thats what they mean by KINECT ENABLED.

If there is gesturing, Im sure it will be simple pointing at the screen to select stuff in your inventory, but since not everyone has a Kinect, Im sure it going to have to be optional.

Did you not read the first post??? It said that the Xbox version would be released AFTER minecraft is completed!!

Minecraft will be launching exclusively on Xbox Kinect this winter.
Don't get what This winter means? Well, since minecraft's release date is NOVEMBER 11, I'm pretty sure that this is after the release date, besides a completely seperate team will be working on it! This means that updates will still be regular, because the same team that has been working on minecraft, will still be working on minecraft!

In a brief statement made by Phil Spencer, during the Xbox Kinectpress conference at E3 it was announced that Minecraft will be launching exclusively on Xbox Kinect this winter.
The game, based on the images shown at the press conference, retains its classic graphics style. One huge reveal for the console port, however, is that it's coming complete with Kinect functionality.
This looks to be a big week for Minecraft, as the mobile version will be demoed on the Xperia Play during the E3 Expo as well.
If you'd like to hear it yourself, it's around the 1:30 mark.
To everyone else, think of it this way; Notch is trying to gain more fans of Minecraft. If they had gone to just PS3, there would be nobody.
You may be right, but I doubt that's the case. Again, Minecraft's quite similar to the Play-Share-Create ideal already seen on the PS3. (At least for Little Big Planet and Mod Nation Racers, which is still a fairly new game.) If you need an idea of how well they do, look no further than Little Big Planet's popularity. I think it could of done almost as well as Little Big Planet and it's sequel, if not better. I guess we'll never know. Oh well, if it does good enough on the 360, we're bound to get our own FortressCraft. Hopefully, it'll be better done to.
Either way, Notch well more than likely be raking in the Benjamins and I'm sticking with PC Minecraft and my PS3. (There's still more games on the PS3 I prefer than the 360 and the internet is still free, despite the issues we've had in the past or might have in the future.)

Not to start a 360 v.s. PS3 with ya but but ps3's Play-Share-create is more of a tag line than it is an ideal at this point...xbox360 has the most social online game space there is which is one of the reasons theyre in the front of the console market.

And most of all minecraft and our community has been a pride to the PC community as a whole, we got a game so popular bringing everyone in to create mindnumbing projects and for once its only ours, we dont have to share it, we dont have to type in pc version on youtube and we definatly dont facebook our friends "what version" and now notch is planning to take that away. Mabey im bitching over nothing and mabey it will work out but god damn we PC gamers dont get **** to ourselves anymore, look at portal and crysis, and worst of all battlefield, there is halo and Cod also! Yeah they both were for PC originaly, Bungie had to convert halo pure xbox halfway through the project and Treyarch has been porting the original CoDs for years.
