Well good for the XBox users. Keep in mind though, Kinect isn't as accurate as Move. So Ps3 would definately win on that. The PlayStation Move controller has buttons therefore is easier to navigate to and from the inventory. 2 for Ps3. I'm not exactly sure how walking or turning would work for either. I do have one question though. Whoever bought the game during alpha gets all future Minecraft releases free, so would it work the same or what? Would you have to link accounts?

What some people are failing to realize is that for Notch, this might be a great fun game that started with indie roots, but it has since become a business and as such, his livelihood. If going to the XBLA is going to increase sales, profit, and the audience to which the game is introduced, then it makes sense for him to do it from a business stand-point. I don't believe that people honestly thought it would stay a niche indie game forever. Its been growing in popularity exponentially since Alpha and will continue to do so. Its been said that separate teams are going to be working on the PC and Xbox versions respectively. People just need to calm down abit and relax. :wink.gif:
You guys are acting silly! PS3 users, the Kinect is much more sophisticated than the Move or the Wii, a controller would just make it worse. Adding to that, Microsoft got to Notch first! Deal With It!
says the guy who is blatantly an Xbox *****
Porting Minecraft to Xbox, or really any console, is just a plain bad idea. You don't have the original dev team working on it; you don't get modding or texture pack support; constantly updating it will be a pain (and from seeing XBLA's business practices you'll probably have to pay for them too) and communicating in multiplayer is impossible - you can't type on a controller (let alone a kinect) and the majority of the console population can't use/don't have microphones.
I wonder what they meant that 'it won't be a direct console port'. Will it actually end up being creative mode like the Sony phone? Will the guys working on Xboxcraft make their own crappy updates? Maybe they'll make diamond tools cost 150M$ points each. The possibilities are endless...
And seeing how xbox makes their controls on the kinect, (Have you seen that new shooting game? Its controls make it look like you are riding a motorcycle and squeezing a sponge to shoot) it would mean that minecraft would suck terrible on the xbox
This whole console deal is why Minecraft development has slowed down to a trickle for the PC platform, and don't expect the patches to come out very often at all now. Minecraft is Notch's baby and he can do what he wants with it....BUT....the PC users put this man ON THE MAP, and now he's turning coats and concentrating on PLASTIC versions of corporate Minecraft that scales down to extremely limited hardware. When you have projects like parallel ports like this, you develop for the lowest common denominator...which would be the XBOX hardware in this case. This means the PC platform will suffer because it is capable of so much more than that; the modding community has already proved this. But...the important thing here is that CORPORATE CORRUPTION IS KING and the goal is to make all the filthy money you can by joining the dark side and stepping on all those who put you on top in the first place. He didn't make enough money with 100% earnings from over 2 million customers? Why not wait at least until the PC VERSION IS FINALIZED FIRST? I'm sorry, but I'll be playing Terraria...until they sell their asses out to the corporates.
Are you kidding? The past couple months PC development has skyrocketed. We've gone from Beta 1.3 to Beta 1.6 in barely any time at all. And Notch is finally talking about Adventure mode in the next update.

Yes, porting games to other systems and exposing them to the widest possible audience "is just a plain bad idea", and has never before been done in the history of gaming ever. Nor has a port ever been handled by a development team other than the original. And it's true, I can't tell you how many patches and updates I've had to pay for while playing on LIVE (hint: the number rhymes with "hero"). Truly, if these things bother you so much, guess what? You don't have to buy it and can keep on playing your beloved PC version! Amazing concept, right?
Again I ask, have any of you even played an Xbox? Or are you just making things up to fuel your paranoid, pathetic conjecture and create drama where there really isn't any? About a video game. Again, I see a bunch of people bitching about the "high standards" of the community being compromised by this influx of console gamers, yet it seems to me most of you are borderline illiterate, whiny little children that rant and rave and cry about things you don't actually know anything about. You're literally no better than the system fanboys over at GameFAQs that **** themselves whenever they lose a system exclusive. For a bunch of holier-than-thou PC elitists, you sure act an awful lot like the folks you claim are about to ruin everything.
And a few bits of info for those having a hard time keeping up:
YOU DO NOT NEED KINECT TO PLAY MINECRAFT. IT WILL WORK FINE WITH A CONTROLLER.
THE GAME IS BEING PUBLISHED BY MICROSOFT GAME STUDIOS. THIS MEANS IT'S AN EXCLUSIVE. IT'S NOT GOING TO BE PORTED TO PS3. GET THE **** OVER IT.
HAVE YOU EVER RECEIVED ALL VERSIONS OF A GAME YOU BOUGHT FOR ONE PLATFORM FOR FREE? YEAH, ME NEITHER. SO WHY WOULD MINECRAFT XBLA BE ANY DIFFERENT?
THE XBLA VERSION IS BEING HANDLED BY A DIFFERENT DEVELOPMENT TEAM, SO YOUR PRECIOUS PC VERSION WILL CONTINUE ON AS IT ALWAYS HAS. THE PORT DOES NOT AFFECT YOU IN ANY WAY IF YOU WISH TO KEEP PLAYING ON PC. SO STOP ACTING LIKE A BUNCH OF WALKING VAGINAS.
Thank you for the comments on my profile, everyone. It gave me a good laugh when someone told me to die. Along with the replies, there just fantastic.
Back on topic, this is obviously a huge mistake. What happened to being independent? What happened to Mojang saying "not going to be going on consoles" huh? What happened to that?
Honestly, this is abunch of crap and I hope that this is just a joke. No console should have Minecraft.

Period.
A bunch*
You understand that Mojang is still an independent developer, right? Unless you're about to insinuate that games like Super Meat Boy, Braid, Castle Crashers, and the bit.trip series are all, in fact, owned and developed by corporate juggernauts.
Quick question: why does this make you so angry? Have you taken a step back and said to yourself, "God damn, I'm getting really agitated by a video game getting ported...maybe it's time I reevaluate my life?"

How else do you expect to download it onto your 360?

Because you probably should.
You better get over it soon.
