So does this mean that if you bought Minecraft in Alpha or before, when it had the clause about getting all future versions of minecraft, you will get the xbox port for free? It will be interesting to see the legal standpoint on that...

You realize Ken Levine, the guy who created the game Bioshock is rich, right? One of the most original IPs in decades made that guy a lot of money and he's about to do it again with Bioshock Infinite.
You also realize that Sid Meier is also pretty rich, and yet he still churns out Civ games for multiple platforms...and success has not gotten to his head.
We could also talk about Alexey Pajitnov....the creator of Tetris that has the record for being on the most platforms more than any other game. That guy is still pretty humble.
What if Minecraft is the new Tetris? Would you really deny anyone that kind of success simply because you don't think anyone else should play Minecraft except you?

Uh, you understand my post was dripping with sarcasm, yes? That Notch is still so involved in the development process despite his rather sudden wealth is testament to his character. He could have simply sold the name and been done with it. And you'd better believe I'd have taken the money and laughed all the way to the bank.

Edit: I like the comment about Microsoft being "notoriously hostile to indie developers" despite them being the ONLY console manufacturer that actually has a download service devoted entirely to indie games. Have any of you actually used LIVE before, or are you just basing these arguments on what you imagine it is? You're also aware you can limit yourself to LIVE parties with people on your friends list, so you're not just being thrown to the griefing wolves if you don't want to be? And since when are PC devs required to wait for a console patch/update to go live before they can release the PC equivalent? Damn near every PC game I've ever played that had a console variant got the updates first.

So calm down for a moment, take a step away from the computer, and stay there. Xbox arcade is a great source of income which will actually be able to help Minecraft servers cost, maybe 40-70% less! And, what about all the people who aren't naturally PC gamers? They enjoy consoles more (Microsoft got to Notch first, meaning Xbox gets Minecraft) and this can help increase popularity. Diamonds for Minecraft for running through this fantastic idea! And *>.< Please O 'notch don't make pay AGAIN for Minecraft on arcade, we should be able to somehow sign in through our existing online accounts and be able to download the game or just run it. And if anyone can answer this question (many people asked it) Will You Need Kinect To Actually Run The Game With A Controller Or Could I Just Open Up My Live And Just Run The Game Regularly?

Okay, so why Kinect? Why can't it just come to the Xbox overall? God, I want to play Minecraft somewhere other than my slow laptop & freezing computer, but now I'll have to buy the KINECT? Comeon...there's no reason to release it on that. Why can't it be made for both PS3 and Xbox 360 regularly so we can all enjoy how fantastic minecraft is?

Makes me think of that Yogscast ep where Simon was joking about using Kinect to play and having to undo his trousers for additional tool usage. It was the first thing I thought about when I learned the XBLA version will support it. :tongue.gif:
