To everyone who doesn't think this a good idea you are thinking about this one sided. It's a great idea because by expanding he gets more of a chance to advertise and earn money. Plus it isn't like the PC version is gonna die out. The PC version will still be the better one because of the mods and texture packs you CAN'T HAVE ON XBOX because mods are basically hacking the system and modifing the game which you can't do on Xbox. So if people are smart they will go for the PC version. If your mad about Xbox fanboys deal with it or request a seperate forum them (or just make a seperate forum your damn self!!!!). What Mojang has done is brilliant for them, they're growing immensely and this is a fantastic move for them. No doubt Microsoft came to them, as I doubt Notch would go to Microsoft, so Notch has a severe upper hand here. Not only that, but guess what guys? You have no reason to give an actual damn about this, there are loads of people in Minecraft that act more immaturely than any 360 player, so quite honestly we won't see a single difference in the game. It's being developed BY ANOTHER TEAM so development on Minecraft will not slow down one little bit. In other words, it doesn't affect non-PC players.
All in all, people are just being raging fanboy whiners and need to quit it, this is a great step for Mojang and I applaud their progress and wish them all the best in the future, no doubt this is only the start for them.
Perfectly correct my friend. Half of the servers I play on are 99% dumbass ****. on 360 you have mature players. There are no "COD NOOBS" most players on 360 actually have lives unlike most of the people on these fourms. Cueball16 everything you have said is completly correct. IMO the two versions should be kept separate and independent of each other, and even with entirely separate websites. The reason why notch is taking so long for beta 1.7 is because of adventure mode, not the xbox 360 port.
You'll be able to use the controller.
Notch will figure out how to prevent greifing on the xbox 360 port.
It isn't that hard to program it so that you can't break everyone’s houses, but rather break only your own.
So what if people want to play the xbox 360 version and get insulted and throw insults? That's their choice.
Also it's not call of duty guys. I don't think people will brag about how they killed you.
This is a survival game.
By the way, the xbox 360 port means more money for mojang. If they have more money they can keep updating.
Of course, updating the xbox 360 version will be a pain. But trust me, they'll probably find a way to throw multiple updates in one if needed.
I, personally, am excited about the xbox 360 version. It'd be much easier to play the game with a controller.
Anyways, I'm ok if you stick with the pc version, go to the xbox version, or if you play both. Just stop being so upset about this.

It will be a complete separate Dev team only porting updates when they are done for PC, I just want it to be like "www.minecraftxboxforums.com" for the Xbox players instead, anyways I may get it for times when my PC is`nt avaiable.

Personally, I don't see a problem with this. Stereotyping Xboxers as 'graphic whores' etc. is ridiculous. Im a PC kid through and through, but I do have an Xbox, and I enjoy it a lot.I love Minecraft, and if it's coming to Xbox too, well, cool.It would be nice if it was free for those of us who've already bought the game, but that doesn't happen for other games, so why should Minecraft be any different?Good move Notch.

Guys, guys, guys, Notch has a separate team dedicated to the console development of Minecraft. Support for the PC/Mac is not going to end, and this isn't going to turn into a console only project. You don't need to buy an Xbox just so you can play Minecraft, you'll still have it on your computer.
The already drowning-in-trolls forums are going to groan under the weight of the flood of Xbox trolls. I definitely agree that not everyone is a whining brat on Xbox, but still everyone must admit the community is horrible. The amount of violence pumped, immature children who shouldn't even have these games but instead have their own credit cards and lie about their age is enormous. Sure there are tons of respectable, intelligent, and cool people out there, but we live in a world, you know. Lots of people in the world. Now not all of them are going to come; most will ignore this release and just keep mindlessly shooting. But I'm sure a good deal of whining brats will find their way here when they search up minecraft. Sure, we may get some respectable people that I mentioned, but there will also be those who will flame and troll and spam like the immature, virtual-bloodthirsty children they are. And we already have enough of that, even among our own users. Adding onto this is the sheer questionability of Notch's decision in porting the game to another medium. Like many have said before, the original minecraft hasn't even released yet. It's still an unstable and buggy game. Moving to another medium without having even finished a game is just not a smart move. Notch should finished polishing and releasing the PC version of Minecraft before going off on a venture like this.

I suppose this definitely means Notch intends to finish MC, which people had wondered about during long periods of no updates. I really could care less as long as it doesn't get in the way of support for the PC version (which, from the sound of it, it won't, but you never know). Why must we fight over something so trivial?
