I own a 360 because I use it mainly as a netflix device as I no longer pay for television, but I am willing to pay 10 a month for unlimited movie streaming, pointless I know.. I have played a few 360 games since I had one, and I could see myself checking out the 360 minecraft because the kinect system has me curious, but I had no intention of buying the kinect system before minecraft announced this.
It could be interesting to play minecraft using the kinect system (I think) Although I can not see minecraft becoming on the 360, the sweeping success it has been on computer at all. I mean, would people be able to create mods like they do with the computer, or would they be restricted to the vanilla flavor minecraft and maybe any mods microsoft wants to make for it?
Sorry, I do not know a lot about the workings of the 360 and development within the community. I know there are some ways that owners can do game development on the 360, but I do not think it is anywhere near as easy to jump into as it is with the computer version of minecraft.
I can say that I agree with these points though..
1. I would never have bought a 360 for minecraft
2. I would hate to see the forums flooded by some of the flakes I have encountered on the 360 (not all obviously, there are some normal and cool people in 360-land, but there are admittedly a L O T of real mingez)
3. Notch... Seeing MINECRAFT and MICROSOFT together makes my skin crawl
4. There may be a 360 community for minecraft but I can not imagine it being anything like ours, and honestly, I can only imagine the PC/MAC minecraft and the xbox minecraft being essentially two different colored horses. Unless of course microsoft plans to somehow publish minecraft in JAVA and allow console users the same level of modding capabilities and server ownership that we have. (yeah, right)
That's all I can say.
Thanks,

I have been playing MC with a xbox 360 controller for awhile now. I prefer the mouse/keyboard as it is a better fit for MC. All you need for xbox controller with MC is a receiver or wired controller and GlovePIE(free). I am sure that they will make MC work better with the Xbox controller than it does like this software.
I just hope I can load my world from PC MC to Xbox 360 MC. Otherwise my interest on Xbox 360 MC will be passive. I think playing MC on the Kinect could be interesting as novelty. I own a PS3 too. I don't know why anyone would think MC would be better on anything other than PC. That being said, I don't see any reason to be hating on any other medium getting MC. From the look of this thread, plenty of Ftards are already present here.

Much that once was, is lost, for none now live who remember it.
why is everyone hating this is a great idea its more money for mojang gaming and that means better everything they will keep the pc/mac gaming up just as much as the xbox version. and the reason its only xbox is because we haven't been hacked yet probably. no offence to ps3 gamerz

the PS3 being hacked has nothing to do with it. The only reason I could see it being an xbox-only console port (not exclusive, because it's also on PC) is because microsoft paid him for it to be an xbox-only console port. I have both an xbox and PS3, and I'd much rather play it on my PS3. It'd be better if he even had PSMove support if it ever did go to PS3 as well.
This has probaly been asked before, will I need a kinect to play it or will i still be able to use the controller? This is also great news, just hope its better than fortrescraftDo they actually mean xbox live arcade or bloody indie, because if its indie there goes all us Aussie's again
UPDATE: Notch confirms separate team is working on the Minecraft for XBOX Live Arcade. More details to follow later.
In a brief statement made by Phil Spencer, during the Xbox Kinectpress conference at E3 it was announced that Minecraft will be launching exclusively on Xbox Kinect this winter.
The game, based on the images shown at the press conference, retains its classic graphics style. One huge reveal for the console port, however, is that it's coming complete with Kinect functionality.
This looks to be a big week for Minecraft, as the mobile version will be demoed on the Xperia Play during the E3 Expo as well.
If you'd like to hear it yourself, it's around the 1:30 mark.
Anyways, just to add my two cents to all this, here are some of my thoughts.
1. I really hope it has controller support as well, I don't own a Kinect.
2. You can't really complain about Griefers when they exist in every form in a game.
3. There is a separate team working on it, so that throw's the slow update idea out of the window.
4. You can't really expect the brats(not the legit mature players) who no-life CoD or other online games to flood these forums, when you already have alot of PC brats(again, not the mature players) who flood the forums with rants and arguments and trolling.
5. I do kinda think it's a bit unfair for it to just be on Xbox(that's right I own a Wii as well), I'm a guy a fairness, I think everyone should be able to play minecraft. :biggrin.gif:
6. Cake is good.
7. It's still going to be on the PC, can't we all just get along?
No, why would he do this. Fellow Minecraft forum users, get ready. If the Xbox Fanboys find these forums, it's all over. Xbox fanboys will overflow the forums, and will most likely post things such as "LOL NoObs XbOx iz BETER fer plying MiNeCrAfT. U sUcK Pc AND mac ousers." So People, We have to try to stop Notch from doing this. There are a few reasons why I am scared about this.
1: Notch might stop development for the computer version
2: Xbox Fanboys will act like their the best players and that the PC and Mac users players are "Noobs"
3: Notch might make Minecraft like almost every other Xbox game. The Xbox Minecraft might have guns and vehicles , wonderful graphics, and Multiplayer like Modern Warfare, but hopefully it doesn't
I think we Should Protest the Xbox Version, so we should create a boycott, and not buy the Xbox version. I hope you agree with me.
This is what will happen once Microsoft gets it's hands on Minecraft:
They'll pay Mojang to sign a contract saying all Minecraft updates will come to Xbox first. (Meaning we'll have to wait longer than the Xbox fanboys for our new content).
Microsoft will release paid DLC-type "mods" and content packages exclusively for Xbox.
Microsoft will use the possible previously stated contract to delay and or halt entirely the development of Minecraft for PC and Mac; this is improbable though, as the Xbox and PC versions would most likely be built off of the same Java code and platform.
I'm not hating on Notch, I think he's just doing it for the fans (and of course, the money), but this won't help the PC community. It's possible that it wouldn't affect the PC community at all, but who knows.
I also would hate to see the day that the Xbox noobs flood the Minecraft community. Oh, kill me now. :|

Also, there will surely be a discount for those who have already purchased the game, right?
