While this is true, searching the website for patent 6,857,067 brings up that page and this page. Down at the "Patents reinstated" part it lists this patent.
"12. Mojang is directly infringing one or more claims of the ’067 patent in this judicial
district and elsewhere in Texas, including at least claim 107, without the consent or authorization
of Uniloc, by or through making, using, offering for sale, selling and/or importing Android based
applications for use on cellular phones and/or tablet devices that require communication with a
server to perform a license check to prevent the unauthorized use of said application, including,
but not limited to, Mindcraft."
I think we're in the clear gentlemen. . . official court document says Mindcraft. Only in Texas.
Basically, Uniloc is saying they own a patent on ANY software that phones home to verify registration. That would include every game on Steam and Origin, as well as many many other games that have been doing this since before Uniloc was even a company.
Uniloc is ****ed. Next thing you know, 71 gaming companies are suing them
They are probably just doing this for the money. Almost every single game of all time has some sort of security to prevent hacking. Ima let you lose, Uniloc.

Yup, and if you go read on Uniloc's website (no seriously, go read it now!) you'll see that they're "a company that is discovering, growing and innovating technology that is changing the way people live." by patenting every single anti-piracy method they can think of (http://www.uniloc.com/index.php/intellectual-property/) for the sole purpose of making sure they can profit off of it.
Uniloc is a textbook patent troll and really should be put under investigation.
The great thing about Minecraft is that even if a lawsuit did cause Mojang to go under, the community would likely band together to rebuild the company and rehire all the old staff.

Author of , Minecraft's most noteworthy Mega Man-themed resource pack!
Also the author of Tales from the Creature Keeper, a book series where humanity is long gone, but its successors, both domesticated and feral, could learn a lot from its legacy.
Excuse me? MinDcraft? Do they just go around randomly suing companies? Look, Minecraft has gotten 6,000,000 purchases. Lets sue them! I'm just going to sneak this typo in....

Do not look at the following picture. It contains graphic material.
I think this these guys are stupid enough to be handled with in a short amount of time. And Mindcraft? Really?
They probably won't do a quake match either because Uniloc will probably patent using quake to settle disputes.
Only bright side I can see about this...is.....EA is getting sued too
Now putting that aside.....SCREW YOU Uniloc, so despicable! (Still happy EA is getting sued :D, yet cursing for Mojang to be involved)
If I was Notch, I would go to court with as many legal documents as possible proving he owns MINECRAFT and never made a game named MINDCRAFT. I know a judge that has thrown whole cases out over grammar and spelling problems, regardless of which party made them.
Then, when they fix it and waste more money suing him with the correct spelling, Notch should just ignore it completely.
there you go...its further down the page.
Donate to help me buy people Minecraft accounts!
So if no one buys it they get nowt !
I believe this is at least partly why Uniloc wants a jury trial. They are betting that most people don't have much of a clue about patent issues.
