this is a criminal organization and should be treated as such. the laws of the government might not see this, but the laws of the people do. im willing to deal with employees of this criminal organization for notch. not for minecraft but because mojang is in general full of very nice individuals who are innocent of any lies this ignorant inbred animal "loving" drug addicted punk says... suggest you sue them after they lose for slander since they falsely accused you of doing something you didnt do and in the process may have stopped interested customers from purchasing your game. (hurt rep = justified)
All this guy wants is a piece of the Mojang pie. He sees a successful company built from scratch (unlike his own, which I've never really heard of to be honest), and he wants to take the easy money road. Not happening. Kudos to Notch, Jeb and everyone at Mojang for standing their ground.
Mojang is directly infringing one or more claims of the ’067 patent in this judicial district and elsewhere in Texas, including at least claim 107, without the consent or authorization of Uniloc, by or through making, using, offering for sale, selling and/orimporting Android based applications for use on cellular phones and/or tablet devices that require communication with a server to perform a license check to prevent the unauthorized use of said application, including, but not limited to,Mindcraft.
For one, Mindcraft? Seriously? It's MINECRAFT you incompetent, inbred, money hungry scum!
For two, there are literally thousands of Android applications that use this very same method to check the validity and status of the user account accessing their games, applications, etc. Hopefully Mojang teams up with all the other companies sued by Uniloc and sues Uniloc until they're flat broke and can't cause any more problems.
any software that has to use an authentication process seems to be under speculation, this is why Ric has FIFTY of seventy two lawsuits SETTLED in his favor.
The lawyers jobs are to manipulate the law into the favor of their clients , even if they are terribly wrong in a moral sense.
Patents are a plague , it discourages innovation , there's a reason they are calling the "innovation tax".
It's just sad to see that people are suing companies but can't even spell it correctly.
Why are there people in this world who sue people for their daily lunch money.
and it just happens about 90% of us here have never heard of this company.
The best part is, the Lawsuit is pretty much invalid. "Mindcraft" does not exist under the Mojang Name. Minecraft, sure. But spelling errors like that can screw up a lot in a court of law. Good luck, Uniloc. You'll need a lot of it.
"Uniloc is in the business of finding big ideas. In the device recognition space, for example, we believe that we have uncovered a billion dollar market. We have focused on technology that is incredibly complex to develop, but elegantly simple to execute. And it fits our straightforward development model. Look at many ideas. Pick an outstanding one. Patent it. Commercialize it. Reap the rewards."
Essentially they patent peoples ideas, sue people using the ideas, reap the rewards.
ok this is alllll major bs. by reading the pdf it seems like there suing over a security check? i honestly don't think that's fair! if its a program, maybe, but i believe there just suing over the fact that "mindcraft" is using a program mojang most likely programmed to ensure fairness and that there not cheated over money. And the fact that these guys are just suing basically to get by and there suing many other companies is also ridiculous. To be honest, i think bethesdas lawsuit was a lot more valid then this one and that lawsuit was just over possible confusion.
Essentially they patent peoples ideas, sue people using the ideas, reap the rewards.
**** that
and true that man... so there just taking other peoples ideas so they can sue people who used the person they stole it from`s idea? They should die in hell
Ric Richardson
Ric is an Australian inventor, technologist and a founder of Uniloc. Ric stepped down as chairman of Uniloc in late 2007 to begin working as a full-time independent inventor, but continues to develop innovations for the company. He lives in Australia by the beach where finds it best to think and dream.
...What?
Oh but doesn't he sound like such a wonderful man? What an honor it would be to be married to him! He is such a sensitive and down to earth man! MOJANG IS EVIL! Inb4someonetakesmeseriously.
