you know one think that would make it even better? if librarians sold pre-written books some with tips and guides to playing the game, others with stories created by the community (or Mojang) they could add a new story suggestion area and everything! I think that would add a whole new area of the community "story tellers" especially because their story would have a chance to get into the game.
First, the good: Despensers being able to use buckets is a nice improvment, as well as the ability to stack buckets. That is honestly helpfull. The sandstone steps and the temples are also nice, giving a bit more character and myth to this world.
The Bad: Trading. Oh, it's not the emeralds, although it seems rather short sided to add a new ore which has only one perpose, let alone such a useless one. Oh, I can hear you know: "Trading's not useless! It makes it easier to get stuff! And It actualy give the Testificats a use!" Uh huh... Well then, allow me to dissagree. First of all, you have to find the emeralds first, which are underground. I'de rather mine for something useful, rather then looking for emeralds. You might also tell me that I can trade my things to the villagers to get emeralds. I could, but quite frankly, i'm more inclined to kill every one of them I see, burn down their villages and desecrate the ashes, but that's something else entirely.
The Ugly: Enderchest. Oh, I won't deny their use in single player, but then there's Jeb's thought that enderschest need a weakness. A flaw. They ALL share the same invintory for everyone in the server on SMP. Jeb thinks this is just peachy. Um... Jeb? That's the wrong kind of flaw. That's an UTTER design flaw! It maks enderchest USELESS in SMP. They're opened to being griefed. That's not good design. Further, if what I hear is right, then I don't want SSP and SMP to be the same thing. That won't work one bit.
I like the new gravel texture, WAY better than the old imo.
also, how does one see the seed your in with cheat mode off? the /seed command only seems to work with cheats and it appears the seed data was removed for the F3 hud.

"I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong."
The gravel texture is just... Not right. I like the old one better. The rest of the stuff is great though. Although i sold 4 diamonds to a villager for 1 emerald D:Also does the Emerald texture remind anyone of a rupee of Zelda?
Help on how to download the server thingy so i dont get that 'hes dead jim!' screen when i try to load up a world.
PS: THE NEW GRAVEL SUCKS! Why not make it concrete instead of retexturing an awesome block.
You have to download the server.jar too then go to your .minecraft make a new folder called 'server' and place the server.jar in there. Done! hope it helped
ok so you know how i said i love the new gravel texture? I still do... BUT, im finding it looks a lot like cobble! I came back to my furnace expecting to pull out a stack of freshly baked smooth stone only to find i'd accidentally stuck some gravel in to bake instead of cobble because they looked so similar in my inventory! The same problem keeps getting me excited when im in caves, i see the gravel and for a second i think its cobble and ive found a dungeon... but no... i didnt.... i found some gravel... yay.
But other than this small problem, im loving this entire snapshot! I think when this patch goes live it will be one of the big ones, like the one where they added mineshafts or the one with coloured wool. Updates like this make the game feel new and exciting again.
I really like that the villages appears different in different biomes, although I do think the villages should have a few other changes as well. The desert villages should farm something other than wheat, actually scrap that, desert villages should not have farms, they should grow reeds and herd cows for food.
I'm also not a big fan of the TNT trap, it's kind of cool but it's way to obvious. Maybe if the TNT traps where hidden a bit more randomly it would work better? It might be a bit more exiting to explore a desert temple (why are we calling it a pyramid?) if the trap would always be in a new location.
Also a trap that instantly kills is a bit rough, I mean nine blocks of TNT? Surely one block would be enough?
I had hoped for some kind of Indiana Jones kind of temple trap, maybe not a rolling boulder, but the release of flowing lava where the player would need to run to escape from would be more fun.
Oh and I love the new functionality of dispensers. Now we can build some compact (semi)automatic farms.
I think this is an awesome idea
Almost a third of my mod has been rendered useless.
Oh well, the trading is still cool.
it is possible to be fixed by restarting the game or as i remember click an item and then press shift

And natural TNT?

So the biome-specific village mod I had in the works is no longer needed.
so... make a copy of your save folder?
