My opinion that i wanna get out there is.... I love many features being added but some feel weird to have, Trading in minecraft feels different than collecting the resources yourself and being a one-man survivor. Ender chests are a good idea and so are the rest :), My biggest annoyance is the new gravel texture because it totally alters it's original minecraft theme. I've been playing minecraft since 2010 and i love that texture and i don't want that to change.
Yea I'm getting the same problem! What the heck! i don't even have a server folder, can anyone help us out here? It seems like everyone is just discussing chests and textures
Just follow the directions it says, make a folder within the .minecraft called server, place the minecraft_server.jar and make sure it doesn't have a number on it, if it does rename it! You can even install this while minecraft is up and the "Okay :D" button will then become white instead of grey, you'll be able to press it. I literally did this in three seconds when I installed the snapshot.
wh while looking for a village in flate world killed some slimes the big ones didnt split up but the medium ones were spliting into bigger ones or more mediums
How do I make a local server, isn't that a new feature, so people can join my single player game?
umm well they are working on that the first step with they've already taken is making the client run on a server but you can't join that server from other computers at the moment.
New gravel is MUCH better, actually can't believe some people liked the old texture. It was horrible. Looked like noise.
Best update so far IMO, obviously buggy, but that's expected. The Desert Temples are epic, I would like to see some randomization in design. Villager trading looks promising, the trading costs can all be fixed easily. It doesn't make the game easier either, because you have to actually find Emerald, which is pretty hard. Also, each villager seems to only trade certain items.
EnderChests are great, I know there is a mod that does the same thing, but this is much simpler in design. And opens up some interesting possibilities.
People need to stop complaining about bugs, the whole purpose of the snapshots is to find them. If you want to play relatively bug free minecraft, don't update. Simple.
I am really looking forward to 1.3 now. A lot of great features are being added, and Minecraft is starting to gain some more objective oriented gameplay, which was needed.
BTW, combining SSP and SMP is incredibly awesome. It means we can finally get the same functionality in both our SSP worlds and SMP worlds. Also, it means that the SMP bugs will get ironed out finally.
My biggest faves I'm looking forward to in 1.3 when the bugs are gone is the villager trading, emerald ore, and ender chests. You can't imagine the usefulness of these awesome boxes!
Uh...I just blew up Obsidian, and BEDROCK with TNT... O_O
I was in creative mode, and tried to build a fort out of bedrock in The Nether to make a garden in. (Don't bother asking why, I just wanted to)
Then I realized I couldn't place water in The Nether, even with ice...so I decided to blow it up, and just make a NORMAL garden in the over-world. (I like being different)
I didn't think that through either, it wasn't until I lit the TNT Bare in mind there was a LOT of TNT in that room, almost enough to fill it. I dropped FPS rate significantly, and head the TNT go off...all at once, it sounded like. And when the smoke cleared, not ONE of the blocks I'd placed was still standing. My portal wasn't wasn't even there anymore. And I don't mean the explosion knocked out the portal part out, I mean the obsidian it's self was gone.
Do not know yet if this was a bug, or if Jeb has intentionally made it so you can blow up obsidian, and bedrock.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known. Don't know where it goes, but it's home to me, and I walk alone..."
Edit: you can stick coco beans to the side of trees to have them grow. three sizes, at full the spawn 2 instead of 1. Cookies anyone?
This existed sence the last snapshot
Oh? Musta missed it, last i heard they just were gonna spawn at random from breaking leafs.
Make sure you aren't playing on Peaceful
