i did this and dug down after the last step and found a strong hold!
Why did you just give such a long example of a temple when there's so many posts of people way before you explaining what they do? Way to ruin the fun for others in finding what the temple looks like and the surprise when they fall into it and get the trap!
What did he do? he didnt do anything but say there was a stronghold under the pyramid....

probably something you did wrong. try starting from a blank minecraft folder (SAVE YOUR TEXTURE PACKS AND WORLDS)
Ill try but I know the chunks not loading is a bug on the wiki and the crashes area bug on the wiki too. Other people got them, but maybe this will make it temporarilly normal again untill the next update
I see all these people complaining about the ender chests not being private in servers and how they people would loose their valuables. Well you don't have to use them. I was thinking that it could be used as a share chest in which you put the stuff you don't want in it and someone else might have a use for it. Like you could put one at the server spawn and new people could look into it and see if there is anything in the chest that could help them get started.
Awesome updates. One thing I have a problem with though, hitting escape and going to the settings no longer pauses the game. I did the usual where I pause it and walk away, I cum back and find a creeper blew me up. Crud.
On a side not, I can see how some of these updates can affect and change adventure maps.
Ender chests for now and then so you can save and access your crap easier and later in the map.
Dispensing of Carts and boats make it quicker to get a ride.

And I forgot, the new book upgrades may make it so people don;t have to put dialogue in text files, now you can read them right there in the game.

Alright, I must say this is the first snapshot I have ever played. But, with me building my own server, I decided to see what we could make use of in the future. So, I downloaded it and am checking it out. I must say, I do love it (but these massive biomes are too big, havn't found a desert yet, so that's kinda good, yes?). I am here just reporting a few of the bugs/errors/thoughts I have.
Thoughts:
So, the emerald was of course the first item that attracted my attention. I spawned it with Creative (which also has a bug I will talk about later), and noticed it was red. Now, while emeralds can be red (link), common connotation of an emerald is that it is green. If you google images of an emerald, majority are found green. My question is what is the reasoning for a Red Emerald?
Bows vs Sheep. I don't know if it is just me, but compared to swords, bows are way OP against sheep at short range. With a bow, you can OHKO a sheep from around 1-5 blocks away. It takes 2 hits from a diamond sword to kill a sheep from the same range. Is this intended?
Did end up finding a pyramid. The one I found was kinda of small, but it was kinda cool. I liked the sandstone steps. Been needing those.
Also, did the octupi get a slight texture change for their mouths? Looks slightly brighter, for some reason.
Ender Chests. Cool. Indestructible item storage. Will be storing all my old chests in them for safe-keeping. Can players steal your items from an Ender chest then, or is each time a chest is opened, it updates to the user viewing its contents?
Dang, some of these Villagers are greedy. I mean, 44 zombie flesh - 1 emerald. Lol. Or 8 gold ingots. Or 2 Eyes of Ender. Hmm.
Zombies kill Villagers by humping them against walls? Dang.. Sounds rough.
Bugs:
When I attempt to grab an item in my inventory, it acts as if I am holding Shift in, which I am not.
When I spawn an item from Creative, I cannot place it in my inventory (hotbar). I must throw it outside, and then pick it up.
Trying to craft an item in the Crafting table is impossible due to similar reason like number 1.
When I log off, and then relog into my world, the screen goes black, but I can still see a few monsters (barely). And when I try to jump, I go flying up. (while in Creative) (doesn't always happen)
Should not a little durability of tinder and flint be used when lighting a block of TNT?
Couldn't experiment with trading, due to item moving bug, as said earlier.
Also, I was able to place torches on bookshelves. Is that normal?
That's all I have found for now. TTFN. Have fun everyone.
you know one think that would make it even better? if librarians sold pre-written books some with tips and guides to playing the game, others with stories created by the community (or Mojang) they could add a new story suggestion area and everything! I think that would add a whole new area of the community "story tellers" especially because their story would have a chance to get into the game.
In SMP the ender chests may not be private, but who would want instant delivering without any danger? This way two people can trade stuff while both still in their own bases, but they have to be quick to make sure no one steals their stuff.

These are pics of the first village I came across when testing this screenshot...it looks like a real cow town!
it's just a tad messed up
