No, that isn't the problem. 502 error means that the server is capable of doing it, it just received an invalid response from itself.

By the way, I get 502 as well.

What if I already have an ncsoft account but no guild wars account?

it is possible, since my ncsoft account doesn't work on the redemption site. Putting the Beta code in the ncsoft account management serial redemption page says the code is invalid. I cannot create a GW1 account since I'd have to buy the first Guild Wars. I'd rather buy GW2 when all the expansions are done with, since that way I won't have to pay for each and every individual expansion (Which they will force you to buy.)
