Pressing the open texture packs button on a mac does work now, but it will re-open the window every time you switch back to minecraft, causing you to have to close minecraft every time you press the button. I expect it to be fixed in the next snapshot(if there is going to be another before the final release of 1.3).
I found a bug. If you use "/publish" on your singleplayer world and open another Minecraft and connect to the server, your new client will connect and just fall into the void while your first client disconnects. When you do this the server actually closes but you see yourself still in it.
What were you expecting? Two of you running around?
Just to ask, you set up the server just like you'd set up one with a current version?
In this snapshot you just create a new world with cheats enabled, then type /publish and inv ur friends to join.
It's balanced because ender chests were way op before. They made it so with just 1 of them you could double your inventory space and never lose you valuable stuff. Now players are encoruaged to use the chests in the way they were always intended. And what's the problem? Now maybe you'll have to think about where you're going to put the chest rather than just randomly dumping it somewhere. And it's supposed to be a difficult to obtain, late-game item; if you're strong enough to obtain the materials required for the chest then you should have enough xp levels to get a silk touch pick, especially under the new enchantment revisions that make it far easier to get top level enchantments. Seems to me you're just moaning because this adds a bit of thought and challenge to the gameplay and you can't handle that.
It was my understanding that breaking the only ender chest would also destroy any items left in it. I must have been misread. I see the potential issue.

Im not the smartest person with computers, so can somebody explain to me what LAN is?
LAN=Local Area Network, meaning you can play with people using the same network, like a home, or an office building. This also does NOT include world-wide network, just in case if I wasn't understandable C:
about the ender chest,
THATS SO CHEAP!
my strategy with it is having some "in case of emergency" items and as a way to transport a lot of building materials without taking up my inventory space when traveling to the build site.
I like that enderchests had an upgrade, concerning player-side storage rather than server-side. RPG servers can now set up deposit boxes or mini banks all across towns and other fun places.
How so?
What were you expecting? Two of you running around?

WHAT?
So, we can't give items to each other over long distances? Half of the point of ender chests just got removed… (In my opinion.)
About time!

Alpha 1.0.4
Changes death of zombies
This would be nice if it was added because Mob death animations SUCK,
but if it was added it wouldn't be just zombies.
