How? The ender eyes are already difficult to obtain, and you need at least 2 of them in order to make the chest useful. Now we lose the the eye all together when we break it. And not everyone has mob grinders.
Forcing players to use enchantments is NOT good gameplay.
They're not forcing you to do anything. Just hunt ender pearls and make more ender eyes. Using silk touch is just a bonus to get around this. Hell, you could be like most players and just keep it stationary instead of carrying it everywhere and using it as a way to double your inventory space. I don't see the problem here.
I am not really sure what I think of the merge.... I guess it's good that it is a simple command to get people, I just want a whitelist. Also, I REALLY wish there were server portals for vanilla single player, they would be SO COOL!
I had to port forward my minecraft file to make it work on my pc. It took 5 minutes and 1 computer restart to apply and was as easy as counting to 3.
if you need a computer restart, your doing it wrong!

I'mma a bit sad to see the enderchest tweaks. I always play side by side with my husband on a multiplayer server. I've spent maybe an hour over all in single player ever. WE were really excited about the idea of the ender chests... looking at them as a way where we could help to transfer items from our distant digsites back 'home' without needing to do a LOT of tedious inventory emptying, running, etc, with one of us on one end loading the chest and the other on the other end unloading. I totally understand WHY the tweak has been made and agree with it. But it would be nice if there was a way I could give permission to my husband to be able to open my enderchest .... even if it's only in terms of a slash command, or permanent game mode or something. I'm not really sure how the BEST way to do it would be.... (probably a game mode or a server option, or world creation option)
... but if it does't reappear, that's alright. even if we each have our own inventory now, we can still effectively transport one additional chest of goods back 'home' at a time and that's better then before!
When I heard that Ender Chests were added, I was hoping for something like the Ender Chest mod. In that you could make chests with different inventories with some method. That would fix the problom everyone else has with them too.
Looks like Mojang is mostly just trying to fix some bugs. A bug fix that wasnt noted here. Pressing F no longer reloads chunks. But it will if you press f3 and a at the same time.

Them lighting glitches everywhere ruining the landscape :s
They pretty much have to be in your house to play tho. so if they arent, you're out of luck

They put that in a while ago.
It depends how you look at it. This way players on PvP servers can keep all their items in an ender chest and no-one will be able to take them.
