4J Studios reports that the 1.7.3 Update for MCX360 is going into Microsoft Cert Test today! It can take up to 10 days for this testing to be completed; once this process is done, the game should update normally. There are a number of exciting changes on the horizon for this latest iteration of the popular console sandbox title, up to and including - drumroll, please - custom skins!
Yes, it will soon be possible to be more than just a different flavor of Steve - new skins include: Creeper Man, 'Splosion Man, Trials Man, Covenant Grunt, and King! Of course, other skins will be available (40 total!), with even more to come later on; this is just a sampling of what's on offer.
I personally plan to walk around as a creeper all day. It's strangely fitting, given my penchant for explosions.

yay! new update! One thing I'd like to see is a way for computer Minecraft and XBOX minecraft connect together in SMP, but of course XBOX Minecraft would have to catch up to computer Minecraft
Visit the website they linked to. You have to buy the new skins. They lied with "custom skins", you get to customize which skin Steve wears (tennis, suit, etc.) in the option menu and it doesn't change in each server like it does now.
The update they are probably adding skins if you look at the picture it is not a creeper it is a person wearing a creeper skin
Correct. Its a skin pack! I wish i had an Xbox to play older minecraft but I have MCNostlagia and that patches it so yeah I'm downgrading to Beta 1.6.6 to play it with custom skins and texture packs but to be specific mods won't work for it so I'm getting nearly the same experience
Meh, I really don't mind my skin much, I don't change it very often. But I really wish there would be updates for pocket edition soon, because the only thing i'm really doing in it now is hunting for a pink sheep...

I don't see why they would charge for it.
They're gonna charge for most of the skins. Each skin pack will have a few free ones though. Saw it on 4JStudios twitter a while back.
