I hope Dinnerbone removes the sound from tripwires, the pressure plate sound kind of ruins it.

we get an emerald block but where is my redstone, coal, leather, feather, slime, bone blocks and i have great ideas for all of them lets get these blocks added to the game
All I can really say about this is 'No.', except for the redstone block. And maybe the coal, but probably not.
Sigh, I'm disappointed at idiots who complained about Emerald ore being "too rare". Come on, that's classic example of impatient 12 year old kids. If it was to be currency based, they should have kept the emerald ore and kept it as rarity, it's basically economic 101.
Come on, folks! Please take a economic course. In my opinion, you guys don't understand how economy works. Or weight of value based on degree of rarity or limited supply. For instance, a product that only has been made in 1,000 in U.S and in ten to twenty years later, the value is extremely high due to its rarity, same idea as Emerald being rare to find, thus becoming currency (best way to do).
Now, it doesn't make sense why Jeb decided to remove the Emerald ore because of people complaining it was "too rare". I am really disappointed at idiocy of people. Also, Game developers should not have listen to its community (at some occasion, not all of it) and just implemented in what they want and believe it is best for customers instead of community deciding what is best for them.

I am looking forward on 1.3 update, I believe it will be greatest since Halloween update.
Did you not read his twitter posts? He said Emeralds are ONLY currency. Come on guys! Either way people like you are barking up the same tree as people who want obsidian tools and mods like SDK's Gun Mod in vanilla. All those things PROBABLY won't happen.
Like I said Jeb might surprise us if we wait long enough possibly
Yeah, and if some whiny 12-year-olds would stop whining, it would happen. Just give him time.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

Wow, you really think he removed the ore because people complained it was too rare? Why not make it more common then? Makes tons more sense to do it that way. I bet he has a logical reason for removing the ore instead of removing it because people complained.
Making it more common would make trading too easy, which would get lots of hate (we have people saying that trading is too easy as it is, even without the ore.) In all of my 12w21a/b time, I didn't find one single emerald (although my main world is a few islands in a Large Biomes ocean, so I probably wouldn't have encountered too many Large Mountains.)
Also, jeb said that:
Many complain that emerald ore is too rare. It's intended to be a "nice find," not the main way to gain currency. Will remove it again.
and this:
I'm sorry, but it's really annoying to get the same complaint over and over again. This way it's less confusion; emeralds are only currency.
The "Emeralds are only currency" line is the only one that says that emerald blocks could possibly be removed. As it looks, I don't think that's what it's implying.

Thanks for reading the entire thread and not making me repeat myself a third time:
What? People complain about everything. Instead of listening to the complaints that actually matter, he cracks and removes harmless ore blocks? There's no way you can blame this on us.
Also your comment of economy is totally out of context. Emeralds are not in limited supply. You can farm assloads of wheat or what have you and sell it to villagers for easy money. AS HE SAID, emerald ore was supposed to be a "nice find," not the only means of obtaining it; people probably just didn't understand his intention there, hence the complaints.
Back to the point though, this is in no way the fault of the community. People complaining? Nothing new. With as many players as Minecraft has, how could you not expect some of those people not to have the same opinion? Or do you seriously think it's reasonable, even realistic, to expect people not to express their opinions? I'd tell you to quit now and stop coming to these forums forever, but the fact is that you won't find any other game where the case is any different than here.
"But Jimbo, if we can't throw every community member who's ever expressed a negative opinion into one group, collectively call them 'whiners,' and blame them whenever something doesn't go our way, who can we direct our hatred to?" Jee, I don't know, but maybe it's not unfair to expect game developers to learn how to deal with feedback (which they will get, always) instead of throwing a fit and punishing people for not sucking their **** whenever they add a new feature. Maybe they could be expected to listen to people and decide for themselves whether or not they think a complaint is warranted and is worth addressing, instead of closing their ears to everything.
Emeralds are great and all, but I expected them to be a new ore instead of a currency. I do like the idea of currency, but I really hope we will see additional ores in future updates?! :0

Well Jeb is full of surprises so we'll never know just yet
Well he is not a troll like Edd Boon is with the Mortal Kombat series
No, 1.7.3 was.
How would that be awesome?

not a bad idea......
