****ing hell guys, you got the emerald block removed.
Well now I have another Idea for my mod.

I know what it means to be alone,
I sure do wish I was at home.
I don't care what the neighbors say,
I'm gonna love you each and every day.
You can feel the beat within my heart.
Realize, sweet babe, we ain't ever gonna part.
I'd like if emerald ore were still in, and still really, really rare, but maybe each ore block dropped 2-3 emeralds. They could put an upper bound on what it drops when mined with fortune enchantments, too, like they've done with glowstone.
And to echo others - slightly controllable minecarts? Is that just talking about being able to fire them out of dispensers?
Edit - looks like they removed the line about minecarts anyway...
It's much better now than mine and buy. It's farm and buy. Either cows, reeds or wheat, whatever you like. Anything makes you rich.
It will ruin the game, trading. If it were to be trading, don't add a currency. I give you money, you give me food. That's not trading.
I don't know. Books are pretty expensive now that they take leather as well, so I think the book part of it is ok. Upping the amount of wheat, leather, etc. should do the trick IMO, but we'll have to see. Besides, trading is something someone can completely avoid. Emerald ore blocks generating is something that cannot be avoided.
But the fact is they aren't common and never have been. I do agree that been too common would break the system. The only problem is that "apparently" too many people have complained they are too rare (who should keep the comments to there self tbh) and ended up having the ore block probably been removed from and been able to obtain by mining even though you have more chance in finding 50 diamonds than just 1 emerald.
If people said they were too rare then why wouldn't Jeb just make them more common? I'm sure he removed them for another reason. Reasons that I think to be true. You cannot tie two instances to each other just because they happen close to each other or they're related to the same topic.
Everyone, the game is called Minecraft. Not Tradecraft.
I want to be able to forage into a twisting labyrinthine cave system and mine different ores and gems and craft them into shiny cool looking blocks to build a mansion out of.
I don't give 2 diamonds about trading. I just want more stuff to mine.
True. But it will be impossible to tell whether someone traded some wheat to get everything diamond or "fairly" mined it all.
The book part may be okay but we can also sell paper.
I agree. Diamond tools or Diamonds in general should either be extremely expensive or not be included into the trading system. I think they should have an inventory system for the Villagers so that there is a limit to what they can sell. I know that may be asking much, but it's just an idea.

You can still do that, but if they include the ore and you find some, what will you do with it? either you'll use it or it'll take space in your chests. Seeing as you don't want to use this economy system then it should be a good idea to not include the ore. That way people who don't want anything to do with trading don't have to without taking up inventory space. I say if you want the Emerald blocks, go trade. If not, stay away.
He probably made the stuff as rare as Lapis, gold, and diamond. That stuff is a pain in the ass to find. Especially diamonds. You can end up finding mayne 20 of them in 30 minutes to an hour.
So the "millionaire" concept may not be as apparent as making a large automated farm.
I would have just loved to run in one of those emerald ores but because of those stupid people who cant be satisfied i will never be able to
Also i think people should stop asking for stupid features like guns/vehicles.
How old are some of you guys? seven?
To mojang i would like say keep up the good work.
One of the things i like the most about minecrafts are the new features that are being added all the time so ill never get bored.
You cannot say for sure that the complaining was the cause of the ore being removed. If people thought it was too rare then Jeb would have made it more common. Do you really think a smart guy like Jeb would remove an ore knowing it would make people mad? Highly unlikely.

No its not, just go down as far as a few blocks above bedrock and dig a 4x2 tunnel with an iron or diamond pickaxe and you will find a lot of diamonds and lapus, gold though is a pain to find
Emerald Dyes? maybe use them to make stained glass, if it would be more common than it currently is. That would be pretty cool! I already can't wait for this update!!!

That's jeb's "Mojang" cape
They should do ruby instead. Just because we have enough green shades already, but we need more red.

No. What tools we have are fine. "New redstone ore! He better make new tools." Bad idea.
